Property's Favourite Review
We stayed in the carriage house 2 nights, HUGE soaking tub with jets, Lots of bath salts, fluffy towels, and a towel warmer. Lots of various pillows, A variety of lighting options with several books and magazines in our room. In addition to a huge binder of various local restaurant brochures and menus in the main house, there was a large folder with details of Cherie and Dean's personal favorites in our room. Asheville is a fantastic place for foodies, as well as those of us with lots of dietary restrictions. We found many nearby options that were fabulous. In-room fridge and coffee maker were great to have. The kitchen staff did a FABULOUS job accommodating my several dietary restrictions. Not just by providing oat milk in our room fridge, as well as at the breakfast table, but by cooking special gluten free, dairy free, soy free dishes. A big job accomplished beautifully, They also provided a variety of sweeteners including stevia, splenda, sugar. In addition, the main house has a small fridge, coffee, teas and lots of snacks, including both local made and some gluten free. The social hour in the afternoon was a lovely way to meet other guests and learn about places to visit. Dean was also there to answer any questions about local color. The snacks provided were almost a small meal, with our first afternoon even including a dessert. I highly recommend the blackberry cider. Yum. Our spa booking the second day was great. We both had massages that helped work out months of kinks and knots. There were lovely plush robes in our room that could have been worn to the main house for our appointment if not for outdoor temps in the 40s. Altogether, a wonderful experience. Cozy, relaxing few days of being pampered.

There aren’t enough positive words in the English language to describe our stay at this B&B! We didn’t arrive until 5:30pm, but Nick, Carey, & the team came out to welcome us & take our bags up to our room. They were so warm & friendly! Nick gave us a tour complete with a history of the house, ending in our room upstairs (Kensington Gardens) overlooking the front of the house. After that, we came back downstairs & enjoyed what remained of cocktail hour with a selection of wines, local cheeses, & a few homemade small bites. There were sweets to be had at all hours, & a coffee/tea machine to brew a cup after dark if desired. The room had a gas fireplace, & our bathroom had a towel warmer, heater, & whirlpool tub. We woke up the next morning to a light blanket of freshly-fallen snow, which was a perfectly picturesque scene. After serving us a 3-course breakfast (all local - fresh fruit, homemade croissants, veggie frittatas, potato puffs, bacon, & a Creme caramel as a special Leap Day dessert), Nick informed us that the staff had cleared the snow off of all our cars & were clearing areas of the driveway that didn't get sun. We couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant, hospitable stay. Our hosts were beyond gracious. We can’t wait to return!

Thank you for your stay at Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast Inn and Spa! It was great to have you here with us and I am so glad that you were here for our special Leap Day treat! Kensington Garden room, located in the main house, is a cozy room with an original fireplace, king sized beds made with spa linens, and wonderful bath amenities. We were more than happy to clear your car windows of snow in the morning! It is pretty, but we won't have our guests clearing snow from their cars! That is all part of the service we provide here at Abbington Green. I'm so happy that you found us and can't wait for you to returns someday soon! All the best, --Nick

We had a very relaxing and romantic stay at the Inn that greatly enhanced our visit to Asheville, and we look forward to returning. The proprietor Nick and his staff have created a beautiful and comfortable residence stocked with thoughtful amenities and they do everything with an eye for detail. The rooms have historic charm with modern conveniences, breakfast is a gourmet feast, the evening reception is a social pivot from daytime activities to nighttime, and the massages in the on-premises spa are great for unwinding. Nick locally sources organic and environmentally responsible everything and serves as enthusiastic concierge to all that his property and Asheville have to offer. This Inn will make any trip to Asheville more relaxing and romantic.

Thank you so much for your recent stay with us at Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast Inn and Spa! I'm pleased that you enjoyed your time with us, noticing many of the things that we provide our guests: modern details in the guest accommodations and common areas, wonderful amenities such as plush towels and robes and spa sheets in all rooms, and organically sourced and an effort toward environmentally responsibility. We source as much as possible from the neighboring mountains, farmers and vendors. When we can't do that, we source as much as we can from partners in NC. Thank you for mentioning our Abbington Green Spa, which is located in the original parlor of our historic home. It's a great way to enhance your stay with relaxation! Having the opportunity to share Asheville and Western NC with our guests in the short time that you stay with us is an important responsibility. We want you to come to visit Asheville and Abbington Green again and again! Hoping to see you in 2020! All the best, --Nick

I don’t often feel compelled to leave reviews, but Abbington Green really impressed me. We stayed in the Grosvenor Square Suite with our dog, Sammy. Nick, Carey and all of the staff are warm, welcoming and genuinely want to do everything they can to make your stay as wonderful as possible. We felt like we were part of their family.
I am someone who loves and appreciates details, and Nick has thought of pretty much everything from the comfortable beds with luxurious linens (we bought some!) and pillow options to the robes to the fireplaces and 2-person whirlpools in every room to the heated towel rack to the completely purified water in every faucet, coffee/tea maker, extensive bath/shower products, etc. My only suggestion would be to add slippers to go with the robes.
I have food allergies, and Nick was completely able to accommodate for them at the morning breakfasts (which were huge!), afternoon social hour and the daily baked goods. I am a foodie, and I thought all of the food was amazing. Nick is Greek, and if you have the chance to try his Greek appetizers at social hour, they are to die for.
Overall, we highly recommend Abbington Green and plan to return in the future. Thank you Nick, Carey and the team for a wonderful New Year’s trip.

Thank you for your stay with us at Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast Inn and Spa! We enjoyed our time with you all, and are so glad that you brought Sammy along with you for your visit. He was a perfect guest, and it was great that he and Amber got to meet! Saying goodbye to you all felt like we were saying goodbye to family! Thank you for enjoying and mentioning many of our amenities that we provide during a stay: plush robes, fireplaces, wonderful bath products, heated towel racks, large jacuzzi tubs, and spa bed linens. I think your set is on its way to your home as I type! I hope that you enjoy them and think of us often! Your dietary requirements were absolutely no problem whatsoever to work with...and I'm honored that you made specific mention of our 5pm Social Hour and my mother's recipes for spanakopita and dolmas. My parents were great supporters of my living my dream and they'd be so happy to know that I get to share mom's recipes with our guests. Thank you for ringing in the new year with us at Abbington Green. We look forward to welcoming you "home" to the Inn someday soon! All the best, --Nick

My husband and I went back and forth about traveling for our wedding anniversary in the middle of a pandemic. After reading the reviews for Abbington Green and talking to Nick prior to reserving, we decided to stay at Abbington. We're SO glad that we did.
Nick, Jennifer and the entire staff are exceptional. I cannot say enough about Abbington Green. Pleasing aesthetics combined with a welcoming experience means a lot to me - especially when on vacation. From the moment we arrived, Nick was gracious and anticipated our every need/want prior to us asking. He even had a Happy Anniversary card waiting for us in our room. The breakfast was delicious every morning and throughout our stay we noticed the high attention to big and small details - like a towel warmer in our bathroom.
Let's talk about covid for a moment. I am very particular about cleanliness and I was impressed beyond measure with our room and the common areas of the house. Spotless, spotless, spotless. Masks were mandatory in the common areas and hand sanitizer was available throughout the house. Very comforting.
If you're thinking about visiting Asheville and staying at a B&B, don't hesitate to book at Abbington Green.

It was our honor to host your anniversary trip to Asheville! Thank you for entrusting your important day and your well-being to us at Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast Inn and Spa. During these times, your safety as well as the safety of our team is a priority. Socially distanced breakfast and 5-6pm social hours, hand sanitizer stations and mask wearing, lots of hand-washing by us and mandatory mask wearing by all while in the common areas (until seated at the breakfast table...) are some of the procedures you'll experience here at the Inn. Our other priority will always be guest service and a great experience during your stay. We've had to change the way we do a few things, but that focus will always be at the forefront of our minds. When you travel, you want luxurious bathrooms and guest rooms, upgraded linens, terrific amenities, and friendly staff willing to help. Thank you for choosing Abbington Green for all of these things and more. It was a pleasure to host your stay and we hope to see you again very soon! All the best, --Nick

We recently went to Abbington Green for a long weekend. From the moment we booked the trip till the moment we left, Nick and staff made sure we were kept abreast of all information related to the property. They did a fantastic job of recommending restaurants to us and providing us with things to do. We thoroughly enjoyed the 5 cocktail hour to sit on the porch and relax after a day of sightseeing before we left for dinner. Everything was cleaned and you feel comfortable knowing that they have cleaned the room prior to your arrival. The breakfast was also incredible and Nick would walk around and offer more food to make sure you didn't leave hungry. We can't wait to go back!

We loved having you here and are glad that you got to see some of our local wildlife in person! Thank you for your stay with us at Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast Inn and Spa! I'm pleased that our Eaton Square Suite, located in our Carriage House, worked so well for you during your stay with us. With a private entrance and outside seating area, it is perfect for travel in these days of COVID-19. You can have as much privacy as you like, and even utilize the full kitchen to prepare meals if you are not up for going out to dinner. We are so happy to be able to share our favorite restaurants and suggest a list of things to do and see to our guests! It's fun to share our hometown with you all. Thank you for the kind words, and for leaving as friends. We look forward to seeing you soon and meeting the daughters when they arrive soon! A return visit is one of our greatest compliments! Nick is probably one of the best innkeepers we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He’s gracious, conscientious, and an amazing chef. His meticulous cleaning of the well appointed rooms and public space made us feel as comfortable as being in our our own home from a Covid safety standpoint. Probably the safest place to stay anywhere.
We had some friends join us for coffee and afternoon wine and Nick kindly welcomed them with the same. This our second or third visit there. Plan on many more.

We visited our favorite place to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. The owners and staff always make us feel welcome as they greet us like you would greet family. We’ve been here several times for holiday, special occasions or just because we need to feel special and pampered. Second time we’ve enjoyed a couples massage while there and can’t say enough about what a wonderful experience it was for us. Each time we’ve been we’ve stayed in a different room and have never been disappointed in any way by the accommodations. Each room is over the top in details and Nick has implemented special protocols for cleaning and meals to ensure our safety during this pandemic. The breakfast is always wonderful and even with social distancing in place we’re able to connect with other guests or on the porch for happy hour. We look forward to our next trip this summer. Thanks again to Nick, Steve and Carey for a great time.

Looking around Asheville, I found few places that offered accommodations like the Abbington Green. Knowing that I was going to propose to my now fiancée this weekend, I decided to book the AG to make our trip memorable. From the moment we arrived we were happily greeted and accommodated BEYOND EXPECTATION. Nick was a lovely host who personally helped carry our bags upstairs and gave us a tour of the B&B while a few of the staff brought our luggage up to our room.
The happy hour served at 5pm every night was fantastic! Local cheeses with choices of local or non-local drinks. We enjoyed a nice evening on the porch chatting with other couples and asking them their stories.
I ordered for a picnic to be ready for us the second day. It came in a antic style picnic basket and was filled with sandwiches, baked good, and a few delicious sides. After I proposed out at the picnic, we came back to the AG where Nick and the staff congratulated us with true sincerity.
The breakfast was AMAZING. Depending on the day, it was filled with anything from homemade french toast, a towering berry parfait, locally pressed apple cider, a locally grown apple dishes, and much more.
If I could rate this higher I would. The Abbington Green truly made my engagement a perfect time. 10/5 would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Abbington Green. Nick and his staff were so welcoming and friendly. Their attention to every detail was outstanding. The property itself is beautiful and our room was delightful. Our room had a very comfortable bed, a luxurious bath, and a fireplace. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch in the evening since the weather was warm enough. The location is within walking distance of downtown Asheville but the neighborhood itself was very quiet. Breakfast each morning was a delicious treat which included fresh juices, fruit, and homemade specialties including French toast with orange sauce and some of the best bacon we had ever tasted. There were also drinks and snacks available during the day. The afternoon social hour is a nice way to meet other guests, chat, and enjoy a glass of wine and some light snacks. We also enjoyed a very relaxing massage in the spa. The staff's knowledge of Asheville was very helpful when some of the things we had planned to do fell through. We would definitely stay here again when we are next in Asheville.

Thank you for your March stay with us at Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast Inn and Spa! You were here on the last weekend before the shutdown and you all made such good use of your time and were so flexible, it was great. I'm glad that our Kew Garden Room was to your liking...it really is a wonderful room, and a guest favorite. Decorated in shades of blue in many coordinating patterns, it is cozy and has an original to the home fireplace. March is a nice time to visit, in that you can have warm days on the porch and cool nights to light the fireplace in your room! We are lucky to have guests like you and hope you'll return for another visit when we are up and running again after the COVID19 shutdowns are over. Thank you again for your stay. It was our pleasure to host your visit! All the best, --Nick
