Nestled in picturesque surroundings, The Inn on Biltmore Estate has garnered appreciation for its opulent amenities and breathtaking views. However, guests have called out that, while some rooms are beautifully decorated and recently updated, others fall short in size and modernity. The hotel's cleanliness is generally applauded, but some guests have experienced lapses in housekeeping. Despite a luxurious atmosphere, opinions on the hotel's charm and value are divided, with service quality described as inconsistent. Many travelers feel the price point is not fully justified by the overall experience.

My husband and I booked the Downton Abby Package and were looking forward to a peaceful weekend away after a busy holiday to reconnect, relax and see one of our favorite show's exhibition. It was a great experience and we spent an extra $10 on earphones for a guided tour that I would highly recommend for bonus information. It was a bit rainy Friday and Saturday but Sunday was gorgeous! We were very impressed with the staff at the Inn and in Antler Hill Village. Everyone was very welcoming, professional, and accommodating and made us feel like special guests. There are a few members of your team who we believe went above and beyond with service and I want them to know how much we truly appreciated their assistance, great conversation and awesome recommendations. I loved speaking with James Lally while on a coffee run to the lobby, Liana, Roxanne and Rose in the Library Lounge were so accommodating, Frank in the Chateau Tier Concierge was very thoughtful, thank you for the sweet late night treats. Denny was awesome at the Winery and super knowledgeable where we came home with wine we didn't know we wanted! Nataly in the Bistro shared great information about Asheville and in the main Dining Room Linda was very attentive to every detail, Ge'Kovie was always smiling and Elijah was also a pleasure. Last but not least Sam the shuttle driver, what a gem! we had a great time and left with memories for a lifetime! We will be back soon, thank you all so much!

My husband and I booked a room at the Inn on Biltmore last minute and got a good deal. From the moment we drove up to check in until we left the following morning we couldn't have been treated any better. We got an upgrade on our room with a beautiful view. The Inn is very clean and the staff is top notch. Our room was very comfortable with robe/slippers, nice products and a couple bottles of wine in our room that we could have purchased. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet. We had dinner in "The Dining Room" and our meal was excellent with service to match. We had a leisurely breakfast the next morning and the food was very good. The Belgian Waffle with berries was delicious as was my husbands Southern Classic which was eggs, bacon, roasted potatoes and biscuit. The staff at both meals was top notch. They were very attentive but not intrusive. The winery is just down the hill and just a few minutes walk to the Antler Village that has a Bistro and a few more restaurants as well as some retail stores. There is a playground for the kids and a little area with some small farm animals. You can do a wine tasting at the Winery as well. We would definitely stay here again when in the Asheville area.

Stayed here for three nights. All staff were very helpful and considerate of all guests that we saw. With this “new” normal- the hotel is set up for “Covid” travel- only 4 people in an elevator (no one violated this and only saw a group at a time in the elevator even if only 2 people), room service is affordable and delivered in boxes, everyone was masked, as requested they didn’t service the room (received a credit on the room) and quickly gave us fresh towels, and lots of outside seating available. Highly recommend staying here. Great views, areas to walk around, great beds and showers.

The hotel was listed as a four star property. At check in we were given bottles of hand sanitizer and were taken to our room. The room had a king sized bed, a desk, a chair and ottoman, a wall mounted flat screen tv, a coffee maker, and a safe in the closet. I was surprised that there was no small refrigerator in the room and turn down service only if requested.

The bath had a small shower, a single sink, and robes and slippers. There was no exhaust fan or heater in the room and since it was a relatively new build, I would have thought that these would have been installed.

Due to Covid, the fitness center was closed. There was an outdoor pool but the weather did not cooperate. I did not see any horses and onLy saw signs for bicycle crossings but no bikes.

The restaurant’s food was not up to par. The cake we ordered for a celebration was dry and the icing was thick and had no flavor. We ended up throwing the beautifully decorated cake away.

The staff throughout the property wore masks and were friendly. Cocktails out on the veranda was very pleasant. There were a few shops in the hotel. A piece of chocolate at the gift shop was $3.00.

My wife and I arrange a stay at the Biltmore Inn for our anniversary. Because it was a special event, we up graded to the Chateau tier king. We arranged a spa appointment at their last available time slot at 3:30 on the day of our arrival. We asked a week In advance to check in to our upgraded room around 3:00 so we have the room available before the spa appt and we could go directly back after the massage. They did state that rooms may not be available until 4:00 but the spa said they would flag the request and see what they could do. When we checked in, no one knew a thing about the request. Even though we stayed in the up graded Chateau level and at 1:00, people were checking into their rooms, ours was not available. I asked the desk to do their best and we walked down the the adjacent village for lunch and wine tasting. I called back around 2:30 and the desk still new nothing about either time I had made the request. I understand they can’t guarantee early check ins but my frustration was there was never an attempt to flag the reservation to try. We finally were able to check in around 3:00 after my third phone call and a request to speak with the hotel manager. I appreciate them getting us in but when you pay close to $900/night for an upgrade room, you expect better service. We stayed in room 648 and it was nice but smelled really musty and the air conditioner did not work well.
We went to the lounge for cocktails before dinner. There was one server for they entire lounge and we sat at a table that had been vacated but not cleaned. It took 30 mins for the waiter to clean the table and another 30 mins for our cocktails.
I know the service industry is struggling but I was disappointed in the care we received for a higher end room and special event.
What saved the evening for us was the spa and the dinning room. Both were amazing. Try the rack of lamb if available. Wine selection was excellent as well.
My suggestion if you stay at the Inn would be to NOT up grade to the Chateau level room. Not worth it.

My wife & I made our first trip to Asheville and decided to stay at The Inn. Like most people we've been stuck inside most of the year so we thought we'd splurge a bit. We stayed in the Deluxe King Room, which was nice and very clean. The shower was a bit cramped but overall it was fine for the 2 of us.

We did have a few complaints: we ordered room service the first night. We had a salad and cheese & crackers. However after our food was dropped off we realized we didn't have any utensils or napkins or salt/pepper. We did call to ask for these items, then after 10 minutes we placed a second call, finally after 20 minutes we did receive everything we'd asked for. You shouldn't have to wait over an hour for a $70 snack.

Our room was just over the main entrance so as cars were being parked and the doors were locked you'd hear the car horns all hours of the night. Also there was a delivery truck that brought in supplies at 11:00 pm Saturday night. We listened to the beeping from the truck as it was backing into place. Then for the next half hour the lift was going up & down as they unloaded it. So much for sleeping with the windows open!!

On the plus side if you opt to not have housekeeping come every day you do receive a $20 discount on your bill. Also The Dining room was fantastic but I'll do a separate review for that.

If you're going to visit the Biltmore Estate then being on the grounds is very convenient.

We would stay here again next time we visit the Estate but we'd have to go with the more expensive rooms on the opposite side of the Inn. It seems that two grand for 2 nights should get you a lot but it really doesn't.

I booked this a couple of months ago to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. Because 2020 has been such a crappy year, I really wanted this to be very special. I booked the Chateau Tier level Grand King, which included a bottle of wine the day of arrival and hors d' oeuvres each night for $943.00 a night. I expected Ritz Carlton level treatment for nearly a grand a night, but it really was somewhat less than the treatment we get at the Lexington,SC Comfort Inn and Suites. The Inn itself is beautiful, and if you decide to stay there, it might be worth it, but DO NOT PAY EXTRA for Chateau Tier level. It isn't worth it!!! When we arrived, we had a small plate waiting for us with 3 types of cheese, and we enjoyed it. The 2nd day, we received a small plate with a couple of small dessert petit fours. This wasn't really my impression of hors d' Oeuvres. I called to say as much, but the individual I spoke to said that was the hors d'oevres of the day, so....too bad. Again, we're paying $1000 a night for a hotel room. Also, when I checked in, we were supposed to receive a small gift (Christmas ornament), but I ended up having to ask about it because they didn't give it to me at check in. I truly wanted this to be a special experience, and it just wasn't. If you want to stay here, it is a beautiful property with gorgeous views. Just DON'T spend any extra money for the Chateau Tier level. Absolutely a waste of money.

SO, so sad that we didn't know where to read reviews on the "Cottage" on the Biltmore Estate. It's the 2 bedroom "luxury" cottage on the estate right at the entrance off the road. It was beyond disappointing for almost $2,000/night. We checked in at The Inn on Biltmore (very nice pool at the Inn) and our concierge followed us over to the cottage. We were shown the house but no offer to bring our luggage up the tight stairs to the bedrooms. We were told if we wanted to use the pool at the Inn to be sure and come in our swimsuits because there was no place to change at the hotel. The cottage was right off the main road and there was constant traffic all night long. I'm assuming employees leaving their shifts to go home. There were dirty ashtrays on the front porch and a window full of cobwebs off the living room. We were also disappointed in the rental bikes. We were told we could not reserve them in advance and when we arrived they had few bikes to choose from and not everyone in our group were able to ride the appropriate size. Our concierge set up our tour of the Biltmore and my credit card was charged for the tickets but when we went to our tour time there was no reservation. It was just a disappointment from the beginning to the large bill at the end. I would strongly suggest that you save your money and stay at the Inn or downtown Asheville or the Omni Park Grove Inn (hear it is fabulous and a fraction of the cost) and visit for the day.

I booked a room here to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary and had to cancel the entire trip due to the coronavirus crisis – we live in Westchester county, NY, right on the border of a containment zone of New Rochelle and it would be simply reckless to pursue our original plans. I called them directly as well as through Hotels.com 4 days in advance and notified them about the plans change. Not only they refused to refund, or reschedule, or to show ANY signs of hospitality, or simply to apologize, but they also charged me for flowers I’ve never seen and for a bottle of wine I’ve never drunk – I prearranged both to surprise my wife. They’ve surprised me instead… I’ve lost $500 with them, obviously I’ll never be back. I strongly recommend those who consider staying in Asheville, NC to choose any other option.

Dear VABORODIN, Unfortunately, Biltmore has no control over cancellation policies of third-party vendors like Hotels.com. The decision not to refund your money is solely that of Hotels.com, not Biltmore. Please contact me directly to arrange a refund of your flower and wine amenity. I may be reached directly at 828-225-1601. Regards, Charles Thompson General Manager

The positives….
The grounds are gorgeous and the heated pool a fantastic feature. Relaxing and clean. Shuttle to the village was timely and shuttle drivers were lovely. Dinner at the dinning room was delicious. Most staff was very friendly and accommodating but some came across disingenuous… at times I could visibly see we were getting different treatment than our older counterparts.
The negatives….
There are items that must be evaluated to support the the price tag.
Let’s start with the updates…. bedroom carpets and pillows definitely need to be evaluated for cleanliness and wear, and products offered (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner) are those tiny bottles with subpar product you would find at a 2 star hotel. I was expecting a place like this to offer L Occitane products or similar. Our bedroom sink was clogged the whole time and turn down service was a little disappointing.
While we enjoyed the food at the Inn… I really did expect breakfast to have a carving station, omelet preparation station or similar which would elevate the experience to match the cost.
The cocktail descriptions appeared delicious but execution fell short on all 3 nights we stayed at the Inn. Super sweet and poorly balanced. Highly recommend having a mixologist evaluate/taste/ retrain preparation.
The unforgivable….
Beware of booking a carriage ride as it is not communicated that this is a group experience. Although it is $85 per person for 1 hr, they assume everyone knows this is a group activity. They later did say “most people think of carriage ride as a carriage ride in New York which would be private, and we will add in the notes for future guests”.
Our party of 3 including a toddler were placed in the same ride as a couple celebrating their 40th anniversary. I felt bad for both them and us as it was visible that they were very upset. They were also not told when booking this was a joint activity although the booking for both parties happened through the concierge at the hotel. Both parties had a miserable time and the Inn made no efforts to compensate or do something special to make up for the lack of communication. This was shocking to me as we had spent a tremendous amount of money at the biltmore and feel that this falls short in the costumer service category.

I don't know if you already went, but we stayed in a Mtn view Chateau room in February and there was no Lounge that we were told about, so I'm assuming it wasn't available (it may be now). The hors d'oeuvres were delivered on a plate wrapped in plastic to our room. They were small, but it was still a very nice touch. I looked back through our pictures and it does look like some of the windows do open. My picture was at night and I think I can see it cranked open a little.
