Location is nice, the hotel is rather new. Our room was clean; we had a double queen bed studio suite. The room itself was smaller than many standard size rooms without the kitchenette. The hotel room was cheap in decor and minimalist. The floors were not very well insulated and we could hear fairly loud footsteps from upstairs, and street sounds from outside. The dishes consisted of two plates, two cups, two sets of silverware. I don’t understand why a room that sleeps 4 would offer 2 sets of everything, Storage space was also at a minimum, If you don’t need a larger refrigerator and a two burner cooktop, you might be better off staying at a hotel that just offers a hot breakfast.

This Candlewood Suites has everything one would need for a comfortable stay away from home. All rooms have a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator and dishwasher as well as utensils, pots & pans, cups, and plates. They've even included things you wouldn't expect such as cookbooks and a cover for the microwave to prevent splatters.
On-site is a free guest laundry. A laundry basket is kept in the closet of your room for use during your stay.
Other features include a fitness center, pool, and outdoor grills. The rooftop deck is quite spacious with different seating areas.
Next door to the hotel is Ingles grocery store, as well as various dining options.
I would recommend Candlewood Suites to anyone traveling to Asheville, NC.

We booked the hotel through a third party, and when we were on our way we called to confirm the reservation and also inform them we gonna be late. At first no one answer the phone, and finally some answered and told us they were sold out, and do not have any room for us. I understand some time hotels overbooked for special dates, to make the most profit. But normally they send their guests to their sister property or other hotels to best accommodate the guest. So I asked if they would do that, I got a negative answer here. And was told the best they can do is not charging us. I told her I still need a place to stay for the night, the manager request us to call the third party to resolve the issue. So we called the third party, they want to call the hotel to confirm that they were sold out, so they can refund us and make the new reservation. It went straight to the answering machine. They called several times, the same thing. We try to call them afterward, the same thing. No one answer the phone for most of the night. I really don't recommend people to stay there, not only because they handled our situation really horribly, but also I do have concerns about their service quality. Thinking about you were in the room and trying to call the front office for some security reasons, and it went to the answering machine, how terrifying it would be. So just stay away from this hotel, and don't let it ruin your vacation.

In August I reserved 3 rooms for October 10 - October 14, one being a one bedroom suite, the other 2 standard rooms. The morning of October 10 I received a call confirming the reservations. We arrived late afternoon. We were given our keys, went to our rooms to find all 3 were standard. I went down to the front desk & was told no suites were available until tomorrow. I didn’t unpack anticipating a move the next day.The next day I was told that in reality the suite was NOT available & I would be in a standard room for the rest of the stay. We were looking forward to hanging out in the “living room” and were very disappointed. The manager assured me the the rate would be changed plus a small deduction for the inconvenience. I went back to the room & had to check my credit card for something else. To my surprise my card had already been billed the entire amount(all 4 nights) including the higher rate for the suite which I never got. The topper of it all was at the end when the final adjustments had been made I was charged $5 more for that standard room and not the same or less. When I said this to the manager she took $5 out of a drawer & gave it to me.
There are so many places to stay in Asheville I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

This is a wonderful property just minutes from downtown Asheville. The hotel is just a year old so the room and facilities (including a wonderful pool and hot tub) are clean, bright and brand new. We liked that it was walking distance from the Ingles supermarket so that we could get a few breakfast items and lunches to go. The rooms have refrigerators, microwaves and plates and utensils, which made storing the food easy. Some other nice touches: actual live plants in all the hallways maintained by the housekeeping staff (thank you!), a grill for guest use, and a rooftop lounge with views of the surrounding hillsides.

My car was vandalized overnight. When I asked to see the video I was told it must’ve been parked out of the camera’s viewpoint. I was charged an additional charge four days after checking out and still have not received an itemized bill on the amount. Also when asked for clean linens for the bathroom was not given washcloths.

First and foremost, the entire staff from the front desk to the housekeepers couldn't have been nicer, friendlier, or more professional. My wife and I needed a temporary stay between permanent housing situations, and Candlewood Suites was the perfect spot for what we needed. What would ordinarily be a stressful time was made much less so by our not having to worry about our suite's comfort, cleanliness, and amenities. Before we reserved our suite Alex was kind enough to show us two different suites and answered all of our questions, and was all the more professional and helpful when we asked about switching to a larger suite once we learned we would have to extend our stay. I have nothing but positive things to say about this location, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here to anyone seeking a clean, comfortable place to stay, short- or long-term.

I see that they deleted my review- not surprised! Do not stay here if you expect maid service and basic hotel amenities. The pool water smelled terrible and I smelled like it my whole trip and the breakfast items were underwhelming. The lack of maid service was unacceptable as well. No fresh towels or clean sheets? I don't think so. I expect these things when I stay at a hotel. I asked the front desk for fresh items and I received a sullen look and a "no we don't give extra" response. If you don't want to be nice, then charge half the amount I paid for the room. Candlewood Suites? More like Candlewood sucks!

The Candlewood Suites Asheville Downtown is new which, most often, ensures clean, modern accommodations. This location provided both. The staff was welcoming and helpful during our two night stay. FYI - *The hotel is identified as "Asheville Downtown" which usually indicates that the central downtown area is within walking distance. That is, however, not the case. *Our king-bedded room was small for two people in terms of space to put luggage, etc.. In addition, though there was desk space there was no desk chair. Supply chain issues with furniture ordered for the location?
