clean and bright, super helpful staff at time of check in. Went to use the laundry facilities to find the machine broken. reported to the front desk only to be told I was the third person that day asking for a refund of money due to a non working machine, I asked why a sign was not posted on the machines until a technician had been called out. No response given. We had specifically chosen this hotel due to this feature as we have been on a trip from Phoenix, AZ to the Florida Keys and knew we would need to do laundry at this stage. We stayed 3 nights, the machine was never repaired and a sign never posted in the laundry during our stay. Oh by the way, please get full size pillows, those small square things belong on a couch not a king size bed..
Chose the property being a 20+ years loyal Marriott customer. Informed at 05:48 pm local time that the room is read. However, when we reached the property, we were assigned the smallest room, next to the elevator (actually the elevator was inside the room), on the lowest floor, overlooking the portico. The front desk staff was indifferent, bordering on rude. Not sure, if this is routine behavior or something else that triggered it. Unbelievebale, and totally unacceptable for a platinum elite customer.
We chose this property over other nearby options due to the raving reviews. Despite being Gold elite and requesting a quiet room on higher floor we got the room on the 2nd floor right next to the elevator. Had trouble sleeping due to the noise. Room was otherwise fine/clean. No towels at the pool which looked a lot nicer in the photos. Pretty average stay.
A good friend of mine got married at a venue not too far from the hotel and she blocked a set of rooms at this hotel, it was the best thing she could have done. The staff were super friendly, my room was very clean. The hotel is located in an area with plenty of restaurants to eat from, CVS, Walgreens and Starbucks is right across the parking lot from the hotel. I went downstairs to have dinner just cause I really didn't want to go outside to get dinner. Miami International Airport is a little far drom the hotel about 35-45 minute drive. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
When you are discharged from an Emergency Room at 4 a.m., 1000 miles from home and by yourself, any port in a storm will do -- and as luck would have it, there was a hotel across the parking lot. But the Courtyard was more than just any port. I got a very warm welcome, a comfortable room and caring kindness from the staff for the three nights I spent there. The front desk staff was kind enough to get me a room at that unusual hour, and then to provide a discount to later extend my stay as I worked out Plan B. The hotel was an oasis of calm, very quiet. The pool was lovely. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed (though I couldn't quite figure out the lights, haha). There was a guest laundry that worked out great. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, shopping, grocery stores and of course that hospital. It's not very pedestrian friendly, but it can be done. If you've read this far, my husband came to get me and I am fully recovered, thank goodness. Highly recommend the Marriott Courtyard!…
