This motel is biker and pet friendly and draws a mix of patrons. Room was very quiet. We were on the ground floor and did not hear anyone above us or outside our room. We had 7 motorcycles parked on the backside of our room, and we never heard them leave the next morning. The room had been, for the most part, renovated. The light fixtures were a little older, but fully functional. A towel rack had also been moved, and the repairs to the wall where it was originally attached had not been done. The AC unit also did not blow ice cold, but it did keep the room comfortable, especially considering it was about 102 in Moab that day. On the upside, there is an apt size refrigerator in the room vs the little portable ones in most motels and hotels. Nice bedspreads on the beds. Such a nice change from the ugly ones you find in most motels. Also, nice hard surface floors, not cheap tile. Also, there was a Keurig in the room, a really nice vanity and faucet and a blow dryer. So many motels have gotten rid of the blow dryers. They also offer towels at the front desk to clean your hiking, biking and off-roading gear. There is a nice tree-shaded trail adjacent to the property where you can walk your dog.…
I booked this based on price and previous reviews. It was in the perfect location, within walking distance to the best spots in downtown Moab. The room was clean and it’s clear they’ve worked hard to keep it updated. There was a large fridge, a microwave, and lots of space. Beds were comfy. My only complaint was the fact that it was August in Moab, and our AC had been turned off. It was a sauna in there and took about 3-4 hours before it cooled off. We had gotten there at about 9 pm so we didn’t get to sleep til late due to the heat. It would have been nice if they had turned it on, knowing we were coming. All that aside, I would stay there again, for sure! The price and location couldn’t be best.
Our stay at the Virginian Motel was great! The room was so nice and clean. The refrigerator was cold, the water pressure in the shower was the best, and the beds were super comfy. I would absolutely recommend this motel to anyone!! If I’m in Moab again, I will definitely be staying here!
Great location for Downtown Moab and it’s less than 5 miles to Arches and 2 minutes from the Mill Creek Trail. The room is clean, with fabulous a/c for the hot summer! The ice machine was helpful when preparing for hiking!! Lastly, it’s affordable! No brainer…
We were very pleased with our stay at The Virginian Motel. The check-in was smooth, they had everything together. I had left my wallet in the car, not a problem. They had all that they needed. Room was spacious and the in room fridge was suitable for our cooler full of goodies. The bed was comfortable and, for the most part, the room was quiet. We were on the ground floor, so heard the upstairs folks in the morning and in the evening, but otherwise not a peep. Extra coffee for the room Keurig coffee maker, no problem. The desk had a whole drawer full and gave me a hand full! Got a dirty bike or 4x4? They have a dedicated cleaning station too.
Very friendly owners. Rooms were spacious and clean. Not fancy but excellent for walking to dinner etc. We had vehicle issues and they were so accommodating and helpful. Nice to have through air from window over kitchen and front window.
Great front office staff. Super nice. Very clean room. Excellent shower with good water pressure. Very quiet hotel as it is set back from the main road which is important because there are a lot of noisy cars in this town Bike wash area. No complaints.
Moab accommodations are very pricy, so this is the place if you are on a budget. I would have given them a better rating if the carpet wasn’t seriously stained. It couldn’t cost that much to change the carpet out for hard flooring. Or, at least get it cleaned. Be aware the bath “vanity” is in the kitchenette and the furniture was new in the 70s. Overall, the rest of the room was pretty clean (don’t look too closely in the corners). So, pick this place if you want to save a few bucks and don’t mind a thrift store vibe.
This place needs a MAKE-OVER! between the hammock beds and the bathroom /vanity right next to food prep area, I don't know what to say. The first room we were in had a clogged toilet, so we requested and got another slightly better room. To be fair, the A/C worked great! Parking was a challenge and the BBQ area was one charcoal grill with a picnic table behind the motel. The place had a stove with nearly nothing to to cook with or on. I though it was way over-priced for the quality.
I have stayed one night at The Virginian Motel during the Memorial Day weekend when we had visited the Arches National Park. This hotel is located close to the town center with easy access to restaurants. You can brew coffee in your room, but there is no breakfast available in this motel. The room is basic, clean, and tidy. The bathroom is adequate for a one-night stay. The air conditioner in the room was a bit noisy. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend staying at this no-frills motel on your next visit to Moab, Utah.
