Our family visited in early October on our Southwest National Parks road trip. I debated and researched a number of the hotels in Moab and we finally settled on the Hyatt Place. The rooms were a good size and it was nice to have the two queen beds and a pull out couch so our son had his own bed. We stayed during the pandemic and everything was very clean and there was signage everywhere asking people to socially distance and wear masks. We went to the pool a few times and that was the only place we felt less safe. This was nothing against the hotel, it was just more people than we felt comfortable with not maintaining their distance. The hotel offered a nice grab and go breakfast in the morning with a hot egg and sausage scramble, fruit, and a muffin, it wasn’t perfect, but it served its purpose. The biggest surprise was the washers and dryers were free to use, you just needed to bring or buy your detergent. This worked out great since Moab was the mid-point of our road trip. The parking was very easy, but there is construction happening right outside of the hotel so to leave the hotel you can only exit one direction and you have to drive up a little ways to turn around if you want to go into town. It was definitely a bit of a pain to leave the hotel to drive into town for food each time. The main purpose of our stay was to visit Arches and without traffic this hotel was like a 5 minute drive to the main entrance of the park. This hotel is also a 5 minute drive from the main shopping area in Moab, had there been no construction this would have been a good location. While we liked the hotel, if you’re going to be in Moab while the construction is still happening I would either choose the Springhill Suites or the Hampton Suites. If you’re mainly planning to spend your time at Arches and Canyonlands id recommend the Springhill Suites as it is slightly closer and away from the construction, otherwise I’d go further into town and stay at the Hampton Suites that way you’re near all of the restaurants and shops.

As we were particularly concerned about COVID safety, we splurged on a casita, one side of a spacious duplex that was sparkling clean and comfortable with a functional kitchen area where we prepared our own breakfasts and lunches for the trail. We enjoyed takeout dinners on our balcony while watching spectacular sunsets. Best outdoor dining experience imaginable! Though road construction in front of the hotel made access a bit challenging, I appreciated its location somewhat removed from the congestion of downtown Moab.

Hello dsarahj, Thank you so much for your kind review! We are glad you enjoyed our casita's. They are very secluded from the rest of the hotel, which a lot of people find appealing during these times. I do understand your frustration with the road construction. But when it finishes in May of 2021 it will be worth it! We hope to host you again in the future! Thanks, Rachelle Hyatt Place AGM

We spent a week in Moab for a conference and then to visit the parks. The Hyatt was perfectly located to do everything. It was on the north end of town which helped with all the traffic. The hotel has ample parking and is set back from the road so it is a quiet hotel. Our room was huge - two queen beds with a large sitting area. Very comfortable beds which made for a great sleep after visiting the parks. The bathroom is just the right size. My only complaint is that the bathroom door was opaque glass which did nothing to keep the light in the bathroom if anyone gets up during the night. Our room was on the backside of the hotel which made it even quieter. Breakfast was plentiful although the eggs were a bit cold some mornings. The bar does serve a limited menu if you don't want to face the crowds at the local restaurants. The ice water in the lobby is very nice and the fruit flavored water was a nice touch. Although the hotel was about a year old it looked brand new because it was very clean and properly taken care of. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again.

This is a gorgeous place with a gorgeous pool and facility. We loved being here. The fountains at the pool were shut off and we assume this is because of the incredible drought the west is facing right now. Parking is easy and convenient, the hotel is located on the Main Street just before you enter downtown Moab. The hotel is new and everything is beautiful. When we arrived we were informed that there would be a $75 cleaning charge for the dog and that we should have been aware of it as it’s on their website. In addition, they tacked on an $11 pet tax to our bill. The room was nice, but we were looking out at the grills of cars and you have to close your shades for privacy. There is no place to walk your dog except walking 200 feet across hot tar (it’s 100 degrees here) to a little 10x10 Astro turf pad they made. You are told and have to sign for a regulation that if your pet bothers another guest, they will give them a credit for their stay and put it on your bill. Our dog is well behaved and we do understand how dogs affect other guests, but if you are bringing your dog there’s a LaQuinta (I think, it’s right next to the blu pig restaurant) that has lots of grass in front, close to all the restaurants and a pool for the kids. We would not stay at this property again because you are here to be outdoors and see the park, so how much time do you really spend in the room.

davidkQ9686WR, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Our pet policy is on the first page of the hotel website. I promise we were not trying to add surprise fees to your stay. Our fee is for the extra cleaning that is required since we allow pets in all of the rooms in the hotel. I agree with you about our pet area though. We are currently working on converting a spot right in front of the hotel into a closer pet area for guests to use. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you on your next visit to the area. Have a wonderful weekend, Wyatt Brown

This property has a great location with easy access to town, food, shops and all the trails. The did have a nice pool with a hot tub. The only thing we didn’t like was that they make you check your pool towels out. Then when you are finished swimming you have to carry your wet towels in a pile down to the front desk and return them or that day you will be charged. I’ve stayed at tons of Marriott properties and never had to check my pool towels out. It doesn’t seem like that big of a deal until your done swimming, soaking wet with two kids and now you either have to take everyone’s towel off and return them or take them to your room and carry a pile of soaking wet towels back down to the front desk later. Either way not fun when your paying $175 a night to stay somewhere.

The hotel is fairly new, clean, comfortable, and has a great pool and hot tub. The hot tub is actually hot, a nice change from the warm tubs you get at most resorts and hotels! We stayed in a casita which was well worth the price. They are still adhering to social distancing policies so we never got any kind of cleaning done for room. They gladly accommodated quick delivery of towel or other things when needed. Breakfast was as good as it can be. The only thing I would recommend they do differently is to have more variety each day. It got tiresome eating same thing out of a cup everyday. Do use the green chili packets on eggs, it makes them much better. Location is good just a few minutes away from Arches NP, but a little ways from heart of the city where all the good food is. Check-in/out was easy and we greatly appreciated allowing us an early check-in. Staff was friendly, really no complaints and would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is very clean. Before touching anything in the room, I used a blacklight everywhere in the room and it was spotless! Breakfast is hot and unique each morning (though scrambled eggs may be powdered eggs). Staff is VERY professional. Hand sanitizer and masks are conveniently located near food, main desk, business center and elevators. Both the large pool and the soaking jets pool were open (there was a major snowstorm during my stay) so the welcomed swim-n-soak was wonderful. Little kids ran wild up and down the halls at 9 pm, but that's a parental disrepect for others, not the hotel. The hotel is located at the north end of Moab, across the street from a Denny's. The hotel is VERY quiet. I recommend eating downtown, one block (either east or west) off Main Street. Great Thai restaurants and lots of cowboy steak types of restaurants. All touristy businesses in Moab were VERY friendly and kind.

Customer service at Hyatt Hotels varies widely and this one is average or below. I have never been able to justify paying their premium prices as other lower cost hotels do a better job. There are a lot of other decent hotels in the Moab, Utah area and I wish I had stayed with one of them.

Hyatt is one of my favorite hotels, you can't go wrong with Hyatt. The only issue during Covid 19, is limited breakfast, I wish they can change the option for hot breakfast. After 3 days, I'm tire of the same egg & potato :(, but because of circumstance, I don't blame them, just wish they can do differently. Be warn, the cell signal (T-mobile) is limited at this location.
