Al and Allison bent over backwards during our stay at their B&B. From the moment Al picked us up at the station, until he dropped us off again 3 days later, he and Allison made us feel incredibly welcome and at 'home'. Our air-conditioned ground floor room was spacious and well equipped, with lots of personal touches. Allison and Al...

We recently stayed at HFGH during a tour of Civil War Battlefields. From the moment we arrived it was evident that we had chosen a beautifully presented home with charming hosts. Our room was spotless, spacious and stocked with some excellent reading material (historical and topical) covering the Harpers Ferry area. We were provided with refreshments immediately on arrival, and...

As a pair of British senior citizens travelling in the USA, we like to use public transport and stay in a B&B, if we can find one. We found HFGH on the internet. Without being asked, Al met our train at the station. Our 4-night stay was one of our best ever. Al and Allison are charming hosts, who love...

Four of us stayed for 3 days in September 2008. Our rooms were very well kept, comfortable, and spacious. Each room had an attached bathroom were also comfortable and spacious. We ate breakfast each day of our stay; the meals were shared in the dining room. Breakfast was warm and friendly, and prepared from scratch. The inn has a media...

We had great conversations with our hosts, Al & Allison Alsdorf, as we sat at the breakfast table watching the large variety of birds at the feeders outside the dining room window. We also enjoyed a tour of Al's picture-framing workshop.

My husband and I just spent two (middle of the week) nights at the Harpers Ferry Guesthouse and have nothing but praise for our hosts (Al and Allison) and our room. This is a small and very quiet B&B run with great care and interest in the needs of the guests. Breakfast (included in the price, as is tax) is...

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Harper's Ferry Guest House in August, 2006. From making the reservation to checkout, I was consistently impressed with the level of service we received. HFGH is one of the few B&Bs in Harper's Ferry that were willing to allow us to stay only one night (Saturday). Most others require a 2-night stay. There...

We stayed at Harpers Ferry Guesthouse for a few days in September while we were visting Harpers Ferry and the Antietam battlefield. The innkeepers, Allison and Al, were just great -- engaging, warm, and knowledgeable about their local history. The rooms (we had the "Lee" room and the "Jackson" room) were much larger than we'd expected -- bright and airy...
