We recently booked the large room with kitchenette at a lower price than some of the other advertised rates for single rooms in Bayfield. We were very pleasantly surprised to walk in to find the place shining clean with relatively new furniture, two separate seating areas and the bedroom in a separate room entirely. With high ceilings and lots of space were able to host an impromptu supper gathering with eight people and have room to spare. The outside balcony seats 6 and overlooks a park with gazebo and the harbor with slips full of sailboats. People watching was fun from our perch. The downside to the place was that the exterior stair leading up to the room is a bit long (22 steps) which could make it difficult for some people to carry up luggage. (The direct entry to the room directly from outside is common in the area.) And occasionally cooking smells from the restaurant downstairs can waft up but if you keep the bedroom windows closed it's not a problem. Bayfield is a small town that takes pride in keeping the architectural integrity whenever possible in its buildings so the quirk in the exterior entry fit in with the building style. The unit had dual locks on both the main and balcony doors which were very secure. The staff was very attentive checking daily to make sure we had towels, paper goods for the kitchen, etc. and kept Covid protocol. We plan on heading back in September to catch the fall colors and will gladly stay at the Bay front Inn again.

The location is the key to this property. Located right at the main dock in Bayfield, this inn is conveniently located to the shops, restaurants and the farmers market. Our room offered wonderful views. Our room (suite 11) had two decks. We enjoyed coffee on the deck and watched the sunrise. The room is equipped with coffeemaker, mini bar/kitchen with fridge and sink. Also a nice sized table for dining. Parking is provided too. I really appreciated that we had direct access to our room from outside. Good price for the location and time of year.

Our rooms were on second floor. We had to walk up wooden stairs outside. The room was clan, bed was soft, shower was strong, water got hot. We also had a Jacuzzi tub in the room that worked great. The little, private, balcony deck overlooking the lake was beautiful but the whole railing was wood and blocked the view when you sat in the chairs on the porch.

Our 3rd time staying here over the last 10 years. We have stayed on the 1st floor as well as the 2nd floor--obviously better view from 2nd floor. Balconies are great, room is good, everything you need for a very good price IMO, can walk all around the town, no need to move the car. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The view from the balcony is very nice and that is what you are paying for. The room was very clean as was the bathroom. The bed comfortable with nice linens and towels. The rooms are small and basic. The property is well maintained.

The location is very good however because everything is a short walk from your room.

The lodge was literally steps to our activities. The room was clean, the beds were comfy and customer service beyond excellent. It’s a bit dated but homey. We look past those things if the room is clean and in good working order.my hubs was tickled they had ground coffee!

The view off our first floor deck was stunning. We would stay here in a heartbeat. Give them a try.

They were very accommodating! We originally were camping in Madeline Island and decided to stay another night in Bayfield. We walked to the closest lodging which was Pier Hotel. They were able to let us do a 1 night rental overlooking the lake. It was also my birthday so they presented my boyfriend and I, a bottle of wine and a note to have a great day with them. We have no complaints at all. Thoroughly enjoyed being there even if it was 1 night.

Bay Front Inn probably has the best location of any Bayfield hotel. It's more of a motel than hotel. We stayed in a jacuzzi suite that was clean and bright. It was a little dated, but the bathroom and beds were very clean. The carpet was a little iffy - with some large stains. There was a balcony overlooking the marina - a really, really beautiful view. Because we were staying in the hotel, we got 50% off on our breakfast at the Pier Plaza restaurant which is connected to the hotel. The food was basic, but hot and filling. I would say this is a three star hotel/motel and was probably one of the best in Bayfield.

Our neighbor in the room next store stated that she had mice in her room at the Harbor View, so you might want to avoid that hotel. The Harbor's Edge looked decent, with a nice location and the Winfield looked decent also - I didn't go into either of these hotels, but from the outside they looked ok.

When I made the reservation, I was told that the room had a queen size bed, a jacuzzi and no balcony. The rate was $125.00 for one night. When I got there, I discovered THERE WAS NO WINDOW in the room. DO NOT STAY IN THIS ROOM IT IS AWFUL!
Make sure your rooom has a window BEFORE you book it at this motel.

This place was just okay. Definitely is more of a $60 a night place than the $120 a night we paid. Kind of outdated and a little shabby. The view of the bay is nice, but not spectacular. My biggest complaint is that the room was quite noisy. Especially the plumbing. There was no way you sleep through someone in your room or an adjoining room flushing the toilet because it caused so much noise. I have never heard plumbing this loud. And I'm hardly used to top notch hotels. In general, the place was noisy, we were just lucky to not have any particularly loud neighbors cause even the quiet ones kept us up. I should mention though that the staff was very nice. Not a terrible place to stay but not worth the money, in my opinion. And not the place for you if you are a light sleeper!
