We stayed at the Monaco for five days in early march. It was our third visit to this Kimpton property. The hotel is absolutely outstanding in virtually every respect. Everything you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Especially the staff, who at every level is extremely competent and gracious. Our "Kimpton moment" came when Lauren, on very short... More

Stayed at Hotel Monaco and the stay was exceptional as always. Rooms were comfortable and the location was ideal for walking to Chinatown, Union Square and a short drive over the hill to the wharf. Pier 7 skateboarding locations just minutes away. Complimentary wine and back massage was a nice touch. Workout facility and spa was very nice. Definitely will... More

Kimpton never disappoints. Lobby exquisite. Adjoining restaurant superb. The entire staff aims to please and does. Front Desk Manager Lauren Guber is amazing and there's nothing she won't do to insure a perfect stay. Our room was impeccable. No surprise thereGood size, exquisite decor and great bathroom. From the minute we arrive to our departure, Moses at the door went... More

My husband and I just stayed at the Monaco for 3 nights. Very nice hotel. Great location two blocks from Union Square. About a 10 minute walk to the Powell BART/MUNI station. The area is close to sketchy neighborhoods, but we had no problems. The room is pretty small, as well as the bathroom which has little counter space. The... More

We had a great stay at this hotel! The rooms were clean and nicely decorated in a boutique hotel fashion. I can't say enough about the staff, Lauren and her crew were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area and hotel. Check in and check out were a breeze. Suggestions on things to see, do, eat, etc. took in... More

I love Kimpton hotels for their decor and service. My husband and I stayed here for a night in the city. We enjoyed the hosted wine hour, and I particularly liked the chardonnay that was served. I really loved the decor of our room, but it was rather small. We also left the curtains closed because the view from our... More

The staff really went out of their way to assist me on my business trip to San Francisco in March. At one point the front desk helped me find treats for my clients (and facilitated the ordering! ). I would definitely go back.

There is nothing horrendously wrong with this hotel, but if you're going to call it luxury, my expectations are that it is going to be luxury. I'm the kind of person that gets excited about a really nice hotel and this one just didn't do much for me. It's a nice hotel, but absolutely not luxury. The rooms are quite... More

This is the second time I stayed here, and I like it even better than the first time! I was in room 604, which is a spacious queen deluxe. Bed was very comfortable -- lovely crisp linens! -- as is the room. The bathroom is not giant, but servicable and pleasant. (Love the big 1875 watt hairdryers too!) The hotel... More

I stayed here for 5 nights with my sister in February and it was a lovely experience. The hotel staff are friendly and wonderful (especially the doorman who was always helpful and smiley even though it was -20 degrees Celsius outside) and they even gave us a free room upgrade to the window seated rooms on the 14th floor. Now,... More
