Really enjoyed staying here. Very hip and modern hotel. The rooms are clean and neat. Lovely picture windows, so I would recommend booking a high floor for magnificent views. Parking at the hotel is very expensive, at $50 per night. There is a parking garage around the corner, that you can use for half the price. Also, no free WiFi...

W San Francisco is a decent place to place in the city, not luxurious, not special, gets the job done. The room and bathroom (stayed in cool corner room) are not especially big and the amenities can be considered basic. Plenty comfortable, but that's about it. I personally find the shower in the bath tub a little low rent (should...

This place is in a great location, the decor modern & energetic (in addition to being clean, having a great bed, HOT water, & pretty good gym & spa). But what really stands out to us is the excellent staff. Started out with Alex helping us through the hurdle of the home office not having gone through with our suite...

I have only stayed at one W hotel before in Qatar which is a very new and luxurious hotel (with a great Friday brunch). I had expected the W in SF to be the same but sadly it isn't. That is not to say, however, that this is a terrible hotel. It actually has some good points (but also some...

What's not to like about the W San Francisco. The staff, the service, the ambiance, the rooms, the gym, the outdoor pool, the bar, the room service food, everything is exceptional. I have stayed in numerous 4+ stars hotels around the world and I can honestly say that the W San Francisco is second to none. In fact, every opportunity...

We booked a corner room in the highest floors (which are more expensive), especially for the view. First of all the view is not the best you can get (try other hotels closer to Union Square) and most important the windows were so dirty and dusty that it was impossible to take correct photos !! The room was nevertheless ok...

My wife and I recently stayed at The W Hotel in SF for one night. It was our first time at property and we really enjoyed it. Rooms were average size but very hip - nicer, more high quality finishes than other W hotels I've stayed at. The bar in the lobby was packed in the evening and very good...

A very nice hotel at the heart of the city. Staff are very accommodating as well. The room though is too small for my taste. Not comparable to a Shargri-La or Manila Peninsula. But will definitely go back here when I visit SFO again.

The service was abhorrent. We would walk up to the entrance and there would be three employees talking and no one opening the door for us and this happened every time. We circled the block three times before finding entrance because they didn't post a sign for parking. Rooms are small for the money. Very dated hotel. Staff was rude...

I recently attended a conference at the W San Fran, while unusual for many business conferences for a health innovation conference it was just right. There were lots of spaces to have conversations and a great roof top terrace. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place was very clean. Nice job W staff!

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
