Stayed here for 3 nights over labor day weekend. The hotel met all our expectations for a fine hotel. The room (king suite with bay view) was very nicely furnished, had a terrific view and the amenities were fine. The hotel itself has a grand reception area, a very nice restaurant (Laurel court) and excellent fitness facility in the lower...

Thank you for your kind words about the hotel. I'm pleased to hear you had such a nice stay with us and you enjoyed your Bay view. The views from the tower are some of the most stunning in the City and it sounds like you agree. Thanks again and we hope to welcome you again in the future. Sincerely,...

I like to travel and stay in nice hotels. This was a major disappointment for me. It was expensive, but didn't feel like luxury service or accommodations. When I did my research it was between The Fairmont & Lowes Regency. Next time I would try the Lowes Regency.

My husband and I recently spent a night here to celebrate our 52nd anniversary. Yes, it was much more expensive than most places we stay when we travel, but it was worth every penny (dollar!) from our arrival to valet parking and the doorman greeting us to a perfect finale of a room service breakfast with Mimosas. Our room (434)...

The Fairmont San Francisco was the first hotel to bear the Fairmont name. Having enjoyed a long illustrious history thus far, I was excited to get a chance to stay in it. Booked a room, applied a suite upgrade and was offered the Oxford Suite at check-in. It was excellent. The beds were lovely. However, having stayed at the Fairmont...

My wife and I came to San Francisco for five nights at the beginning of September and stayed at The Fairmont. We loved the hotel. It was in a wonderful location away from all of the chaos of typical tourist areas like fishermans wharf. The lobby was gorgeous, staff areas friendly and our room was beautiful with tall ceilings. Our...

My husband got this hotel for a conference rate of around $305 per night. He was there for six nights; I joined him for three of those nights because I have always wanted to stay at the historic Fairmont! We've stayed in the Mark Hopkins across the street and also a few Kimpton hotels farther down Nob Hill, but never...

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay with us. It sounds like you had a very good stay overall but we have some work to do. Located on Nob Hill central to the top tourist spots (Embarcadero, Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf and North Beach) with an easy walk to Chinatown and Union Square. Of course, the walk back is not so easy - straight uphill! It is right on one of the cable car lines. The lobby of the hotel is very large and very beautiful....

We recently stayed here for 2 nights (4-6 September). Lovely old fashioned hotel with a great lobby. Check in time was minimal and we got early access to our room. Room was a fair size with a good sized bathroom and very comfortable bed. The Tonga bar in the hotel is well worth a visit. All staff we encountered were...

The positive -- located in Nob Hill area of San Fran. Central to everything, right on the cable car line with a short ride to Chinatown, Ghiardelli Square and the Embarcardero. Hotel itself is older, but inside is absolutely beautiful. Great lobby. Rooms were large, bed is comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. The negative -- on three separate occasions...

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay with us. It sounds like your stay was very pleasant overall in spite of a couple of challenges you experienced. Arrived here as the start of our PCH road trip. Pulling up in front makes you feel special before you have even walked in the place. Great lobby oozing charm and style. Check in was a breeze. Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
