We stayed here 2 nights in late December. We drove into SF and this hotel was fairly easy to find and access. The room rate and the valet parking ($50 per night) were not atypical for the area. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had no issues at all with the accommodations and everyone we encountered was professional,...

This was our first time staying here and I think we will probably stay here again. The hotel is kept up very well, it's very clean and the rooms are nicely sized. I was particularly happy with the staff's attentiveness and helpfulness. This is as good or better than most Marriotts I've stayed in in terms of both quality and...

We stayed here for three nights in December. I had originally planned to stay at Holiday Inn across the street but it was under renovation so we picked this place instead. I am really glad we booked this place because the lobby was far nicer than the Holiday Inn one! We were dropped off at the entrance of the hotel...

Comfortable, pleasant and a short walk from the superb Maritime Museum, the water front and little Italy. While not exactly on the Wharf, its just a few blocks..and in such a walkable city, that's not a problem at all. The hotel concierge was knowledgeable and extremely helpful, guiding us to a fantastic restaurant for dinner that was out of the...

Stayed here for a week just before and after New years 2014 with 7 other family members. We had 3 rooms for 6 nights. Hotel staff were great. No hot tub or pool. A hot tub would have been nice to soak our feet after walking around San Fran all day.

Trip Advisor Marriot Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco, CA Christmas in San Francisco Upon arriving at this Marriot, I asked about available upgrades. An inside courtyard room was offered. We accepted, and it turned out to be a great room! Our room was very quiet up on the 5th floor. With four of us in a room, we had plenty of...

This is a fantastic location for tourism - close to Fisherman's Wharf and great restaurants. Most of these places are within walking distance - which is great for San Francisco. Property itself looks and feels pretty dated. I might not focus on this so much were it not for the expensive nightly rates - seems exorbitant given the condition of...

The hotel is located very close to the wharf that's about it for this place. Was not impressed with anything else. I felt that it was barley the minimum of what a Marriot could be. The Valet was very friendly but the front desk was not.

Been to many hotels, this is one of the best. Quality bed and lining. Service is top notch. Clean. Great location. Some Marriott hotels spent more attention on the look than the quality of the room. But this one has both. I only wish that they have a pool for kids, and free WiFi in rooms.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
