This hotel was very average. The hotel itself is showing its wear as a tourist hotel, which of course it is sitting in the Fisherman's Wharf area. The room was small and I didn't receive the normal Platinum upgrade "because the hotel was full". I don't believe that was accurate based upon the traffic I saw. The breakfast was free...

Hello Ed, Hello andybnnc, Thank you for sharing your feedback from your recent stay . We do hope you enjoyed your visit to our beautiful city. We are sorry to hear about your disappointment with the parking charges. Please know that aside from being in a secured and covered lot, our valet parking fee is in line, if not lesser,...

Stayed here several nights on our recent trip to San Francisco. The hotel is in a great location! The rooms were clean, well furnished and the beds and pillows very comfortable. It was walking distance from most all you would want to see. We used the concierge to hold our luggage without any issues. The valet was also efficient and...

This is our second stay here within two years. The hotel is a very short walk to Fishermans wharf. The hotel is well presented and the rooms are always well serviced and clean. The first stay was on the ground level with a street view towards Walgreens (grocery/convenience store) Little bit of street noise. Second stay was with courtyard view...

We recently spent 3 nights while on vacation and everything about this hotel was great! They kept out bags secure for early check in, the staff was really friendly and welcoming. They had the most delicious cookies my family looked forward to in the evening after a long day of site seeing. The staff went above and beyond to help...

I wouldn't typically stay in such a touristy area, but there was big conference in town and most hotels were sold out. I paid $400 a night, plus $50 for parking for a room with 2 beds. It was much more than I typically spend, but that was the going rate for the night. I had to head to an...

Excellent location if looking to explore the Fisherman's Wharf area. Rooms are larger than what I expected and in great shape. All of the staff was amazingly friendly: smiling faces and making a point to wish us a nice day whenever we walked by them or asked for anything

Excellent decision to book this hotel. The staff was outstanding, friendly, and went the extra mile. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and nicely appointed. Can't say enough about the location. Easy, flat walk to everything we wanted. We were here on the night of July 4th and were able to see all the fireworks from our room window...a real bonus!

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
