The employees greet you with a smile. Very helpful and informative. I had a few special request and they have been able to meet my demands. I love the location and the fact that there is a restaurant here on site.

Good solid Marriott. Comfortable beds, decent restaurant. The halls (we were on the fourth floor) were either hot or cold. For some reason they couldn't seem to get it right. Good location within blocks of both cable car lines. Two blocks to the actual wharf. Parking, a premium in the tourist section, a premium at the hotel. At $54 plus...

Dear Cliffart, Thank you for staying at the San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf Marriott. I am happy to know that you found our hotel to be what you expected. Our parking is valet parking only and throughout San Francisco our prices are competitive. There is self parking within a couple of blocks which is a little less expensive. We have worked...

The location is in the Fisherman's wharf area and walkable to attractions and restaurants. The room price was fair although the parking is egregious and there were taxes on top of that. If I was staying more than 1 night I would find a nearby garage. The lounge/lobby area was modern and clean. The rooms were average without any views....

Dear Texastide, Thank you for staying at the San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf Marriott. While I am happy to know you were pleased with some of your stay, I am sorry that you did not receive the service you should have from the front desk staff and the bellman. We normally pride ourselves on our service, so I will make sure...

The updates that the hotel has done are beautiful and well appointed. Make sure to ask for an updated room (although most are). We had an early problem with construction as they pounded away next to our room at 6:55am. I give the property 5 stars because the managers took care of the problem with a room change, breakfast and...

Dear MSPcrew, Thank you for staying at the Fisherman's Wharf Marriott. I apologize for the early wake up call due to renovations. I am happy to know we were able to take care of the situation to your satisfaction. The good news is that we are nearing the end of our renovation and all our rooms will be complete in...

Only a couple of blocks from Fisherman's Wharf, Russian Hill, Hyde Street cable car, and the Maritime National Historical Park, this is a very serviceable location for tourists. It is not, however, a pretty neighborhood - just construction, hotels. It is far from the closest BART station. Bus lines go by if you know how to negotiate the system. But...

I have no complaints about our room at this hotel. It was perfectly fine, and the hotel is conveniently located if you want to be near the wharf area. It's not inconvenient if your interests lie elsewhere. Front desk and valet staff were friendly and helpful. Sadly, I can't say as much for the restaurant/bar staff, who were a bit...

Dear cjigga, Thank you so much for staying at the Fisherman's Wharf Marriott. I am happy to hear that you found our rooms and front office staff to be friendly and helpful. I was not pleased at all to hear about your experience in our restaurant/bar. I have spoken with our food and beverage staff regarding this in hopes it...

This is a hotel review and not of San francisco. That said, location is important. This location is mixed - close to fishermans wharf and touristy stuff, not far from most of the city from chinatown, coit tower, hills etc, little italy and north beach. That said, fisherman's wharf can be dicey and i am not sure that this area...

Dear moparmaniac, Thank you for staying with us at the Fisherman's Wharf Marriott. Our location is centrally located as you mentioned, walking distance to many great areas of San Francisco. While there is some homelessness in the area, the Fisherman's Wharf district takes pride in the safety of the area too. It is an ongoing issue and one that the...

We got a good rate on this hotel in a good location in SF. They are renovating and we got one of the updated rooms and it's very nice. The staff is very friendly too. I stayed here for 4 nights while visiting SF on a pleasure trip and booked it using my points. Pros: Great location for tourists - very close to the Fisherman's Wharf. I stayed at this hotel for work. I liked it because it is bit away from downtown but close to Fisherman Warf. If you are her for vacation great hotel. For work downtown not so much as you will need a cab or UBER for most places. But the hotel is clean and the staff is very helpful. Nice rates...

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
