I'm going to try to keep this short, but it's hard because my disappointments were legion. The only real positive I have is that the hotel is located as promised. Also, there was a very conveniently located public playground, which my toddler and I both appreciated. 1. We reserved several rooms for a family vacation and one of the rooms...

The Hilton Financial District (Chinatown), is a great looking hotel in great location. However, what my girlfriend and I experienced for our holiday was a SHOCKING tolerance by management of an experience that should not be acceptable to the Hilton brand (or any respectable hotel, especially one at the 4 star level). Our room, number 1200, was unfortunately positioned directly...

Location is good. Food is mediocre. Bathroom doors are sliders and do not lock. Hotel was overbooked and we had to change rooms the next day to get what we requested. They did give us a free breakfast to compensate for the overbooking. Parking is $30 a day if you don't use your car ever during your stay, otherwise the...

As being mentioned by other reviewers, the location is near to Chinatown and about 15 min walking distance from subway (BART). If you are in the higher level floor, you will have a great view of San Francisco, however they have to clean the window to have a clear view. The breakfast option is quite impressive, they have Chinese cuisine...

Everything was classy and well done the staff was attentive and welcoming from the check in staff to the hotel manager who lent us 3 wine glasses New Years Eve. The bell hop and valet staff were helpful and friendly. At breakfast we were welcomed by a very friendly hostess. The breakfast buffet had a large selection of food and...

Ok, first off, I get that we probably paid a lot less for our room than most as we booked a Priceline express deal. But if you're going to stick two adults in a room barely larger than a closet, situated directly next to the elevators with ONE tiny double bed (for TWO adults!) there should be an option on...

First things first, I have to recognize Tamela T. (front desk staff) for her exceptional service. She got us checked in super quickly and after a long day of travel that was greatly appreciated. Our room was on the top floor with a bay view that was phenomenal. The cleanliness and amenities are what you've come to expect from Hilton...

First contact with any higher level hotel is the bell person. In this case, we have had Albert service our needs multiple times before. He is a man on a mission. He knows SFO well and will give you any information you require to make your visit special during any yearly season. The nice thing about Albert is he does...

Hotel is located in the Financial District. We were able to walk to most of the cities entertainment/restaurants. Hotel is beautiful and modern. Enjoyed the bar as we waited for our other family members. Hotel is right by the Transamerica building so it was easy to locate where our hotel was as we walked around.

Solid Hilton hotel....close to Fishermans Wharf and steps from Chinatown. Enjoyed our two day stay and the customer service was what you would expect from Hilton. Visited Alcatraz, Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf with a stop at the Golden Gate Bridge. Just an hour to Sonoma wine country. Only complaint is bed was a little hard.

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
