Took my parents to San Francisco as part of a birthday celebration. Having never been to this city before I was researching hotels for quite some time. There were a lot of options at all price ranges and it took quite a few weeks to decide on where I was going to stay. I made the right choice. This hotel...

Great location on Union Square, reasonably priced (as far as SF goes), and with its Family Suite it was one of the only hotels in SF where our family of 5 could get just one room instead of needing two rooms. It's definitely an older hotel, but it was perfectly charming and the employees were friendly and helpful. Not a...

Stayed here for 4 nights in November. The hotel is in a great location, within the shopping district. You can get any form of transport within the area and if you are in San Francisco you must get on a cable car! The room was a decent size with 2 double beds, which were very comfy. There's a safe, ironing...

The Handlery is a fantastic spot to base yourself for a San Fran visit. it is close to the cool shopping precinct and handy to the cable cars and trams. The staff are excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Happy to recommend it to others and will be staying there again.

We wanted a place to stay so we could have dinner at Prospect and listen to music on a Friday night. We called and reserved the KGO radio special. Considering parking is $52 a night, that was included so the room rate was very reasonable considering: * it's right smack in the heart of Union Square * King bed was...

We found the room very clean and comfortable . We asked for a city view room, which they informed us that there could be Road noise which we did not find a problem at all. There was a safe in the room, hanging space with two robes and an area to put makeup on. The bathroom was well equipped and...

We stayed at The Handlery for 4 nights stopover between Hawaii and U.K. The bellman watched us struggle with 2 children and 4 suitcases - no offers of assistance! We were given an historical dble dble room which was suitable for our needs. The double beds were small and most uncomfortable. The floorboards were very creaky in our room and...

Everything was fine just not as great as it could be if someone paid attention. We go to SF often and there are many great small hotels. This one doesn't seem to have a "vision." Lobby is very unfriendly in decor and welcoming staff. Reception is great, but there are several men standing by the door who do nothing. No...
