Originally home to rallies supporting the Union Army in the Civil War, this grand square has become the city's premier shopping and entertainment district containing the largest number of upscale department stores, chic boutiques, art galleries and theatres in the city. It's a large open area where tourists and locals gather, watch cable cars and crowds go by, enjoy a snack, or plan their day of shopping and sightseeing, If feeling the pulsating energy of the city is on your agenda, Union Square is the place to soak it in.

This was our third time here... and the first since the renovations. The room... petite queen .. was “cozy” (= very small) and the “upgrade” to the partial city view was not especially an upgrade... all that being said... the room was quiet and extremely comfortable, the bed was

Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel from every aspect. Our room was very clean and spacious. I shared a deluxe double queen with my sister. Lots of space, lots of storage, big bathroom and great layout. The front desk staff was helpful and checked us in early (10:30 AM) for a small

Service I booked 3 rooms for two nights for business trip. I arrived early and was told that rooms were available for check-in, but if I we wanted to check in before 3 pm - $30 extra! Seriously? Room The room is nice - the bed was comfortable. My only complaint is that

Dear clear_blue_sky, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us. You are correct; we have a select number of rooms that we set aside and prioritize through our housekeeping department which are prepared in advance for those wishing to check in early for a $30 fee. Regarding the desk in the room: if you choose to stay with us again, we do have desks in our suites petite queen rooms. We can also provide guests that need it with a portable desk option. Again, we appreciate your feedback. Please reach out with any additional questions. Sincerely, Anna Marie Presutti, GM Hotel Nikko San Francisco

Are (well-behaved) children allowed to utilize the pool?
I believe there is an age restriction with the pool requiring children under a certain age to be accompanied by their parents. Personally I have seen many children, most well behaved, in the pool when I have stayed there.
