This European-esque hotel was pretty much what we expected for the price we paid in San Fran. The rooms are small and the hotel doesn't offer much privacy or amenities. The room was clean and had everything we needed for 2 nights, and we felt safe and comfortable during our stay. The complimentary breakfast was just the basics, but hey,...

The hotel is adequate for the rates they charge. The rooms are smallish but clean and well decorated. The front office staff were okay but didn't go out of their way to be overly friendly or helpful. The main concern I had with my stay was that they decided to renovate the breakfast area during my stay and held the...

Located right in Union Square this hotel offers easy and convenient access to the BART (connecting to the airport and other locations within the city) and the cable cars (connecting to Fisherman's Warf etc.) There are plenty of restaurants offering everything from Mexican, to Thai to Italian as well as staples like the Cheesecake Factory and a Starbucks just one...

I wanted a room in the city that could sleep 6 comfortably and I am so happy that I found The Stratford. They have a family suite that has two full sized beds in one room and a queen bed in a separate room. Each room has its own entry doors too. There is one bathroom, but the queen room...

This hotel is a GREAT value if you are on a budget in SF, do not have a car, and want to be a few steps from Union Square. It's probably the best deal. The cable cars stop right outside, the bus lines are close, and so is the BART. The hotel is old, but is nicely renovated and clean....

The hotel is just next to Union Square and a cable car line. Breakfast was fine, staff was friendly and the room was just what we expected it to be. Not that big or fancy but for us the location was more important when it came to price and we had to choose. Parking is VERY expensive. We parked in...

A great hotel in the center of SF, but the rooms where very small. We've stayed here for 5 nights, but after 4 nights we travelled back to LA, because of the small rooms. Breakfast was not included.

3 nights standard room $80/night Pros - Location is great. Right in the heart of the union square region. 5min walk to BART Powell station and Market St. - Complementary continental breakfast Cons - Right on the main street Powell. Can be a little noisy with the cable cars at night. However our room 406 was surprisingly quiet. - Small...

A clean hotel at a budget price a block or so from Union Square. Like every place I've stayed in San Francisco, there is street noise. As others have mentioned, the rooms are small (but are you coming to San Francisco to hang out in the room?). Expect to wait for the elevator at prime times.

The Statford is a fantastic hotel right in the heart of everything. Very close to transport (although we did have a hire car, we decided to use public transport during our stay) which took you to all the touristy places San Fran has to offer. Rooms are small, but very tidy and if you're doing a lot of sightseeing who...
