I stay here about 4 x year for business. It is affordable. The location is great. It is near a whole foods. A great coffee shop. Parks for walking and running. A street that gets blocked off for food trucks. And easily walkable to the haight district. They do free breakfast and wine and cheese in the evenings. The hotel...

Simply the best bang for the buck in the San Francisco area. Historic and quaint but very very convenient and affordable considering the location. I will stay here aging on my next trip out to explore this great part of the city.

I loved staying here , I was having tests don at UCSF , and this hotel was close to walk to , nice neighborhood. Small rooms but very comfortable, the hotel lobby was clean and a very friendly staff. It is across the street from GGate park so you will see the local cultures here.

This is a quaint, historic place to stay but our room had no view. It almost looked directly into another room. I'll not sure how about the layout but that was just weird. We didn't bother complaining because we were out a lot. Their heat in the room was confusing. I think some aspects of this hotel (like their HVAC)...

My child was receiving medical care at nearby UCSF. this hotel was within walking distance or a very inexpensive Uber ride. I was lucky to get room 301. It's an entire apartment with charming details such as pocket doors and other architectural details reflecting its past. Bathroom is modern as is kitchen. A modest breakfast is served as is afternoon...

We chose the Stanyon for its location close to our relatives. The staff was friendly and courteous throughout. The room was clean . No heat in the bathroom but a heater was supplied on request and there was plenty of hot water available. This hotel is old-fashioned in a slightly run-down way. Breakfast is plentiful but not elegant. All available yoghurt...

We needed a relaxing an immediate weekend getaway after to the stressful 10 months of the toxic and divisive 2016 presidential campaign. We selected Stanyan as San Francisco is one of our favorite cities and we live in Sacramento. It's perfectly located near the Golden Gate Park, fun restaurants, parking is easy right across the street in a paid parking...

Hotel was restored in 1983 and it needs it again. I mean that was 33 years ago!!! No water pressure in shower. Planned two night stay but only stayed one night. Staff did not penalize me for one night stay, but they considered it. Breakfast was complimentary and it was average.

This quaint hotel is right in the middle of everything we wanted to visit. No frills, but very comfortable older inn. We enjoyed the free breakfast very much. It was a bit pricey, but for San Fransisco in general it seemed like a very good price.

Staying in Haight-Ashbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Haight-Ashbury
The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops. While the Summer of Love ended decades ago, Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through its streets can still feel like stepping back in time. A must-see neighbourhood for most music fans, it’s easy to see why these streets attracted the likes of the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. You’ll likely be content in The Haight day or night, just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
