Great hotel! The service is spot on. The view from the 30th floor cannot be beat. The location in SF is convenient and a great starting point when running around SF; near to BART, MUNI, cable cars, shopping, restaurants, etc. The hotel bar and restaurant are nice, the food was fresh and delicious. The Intercontinental is a top choice hotel...

All in all this was a good stay, but a few things struck me to write an updated review of the hotel and knock it down to a 3 rating. The room I had was apparently some upgrade that I was charged a supplement for. I am not sure what the upgrade was for, because it wasn't much of a...

I live in the city, but needed a mini getaway, so I opted for a staycation at the Intercontinental for a weekend. Spa is amazing per usual. I try to come here 2-3x / year. Got an hour massage and spent the day in relaxing on the terrace. The room itself was pretty standard. Not as nice / "luxurious" as...

Rooms are very nice, spacious and comfortable. Internet works well, personnel is service oriented and helpful. Perfect location if doing business or if you attend a convention. Beds are outstanding. As before, I do not specifically like the tiny "gift shop". It is targeting tourists and souvenir shopping more than the hotel guests. Well, I like staying there.

Stayed at the InterContinental for 4 days on business. When I arrived, they upgraded me without me asking (which is seemingly unheard of these days) to a corner suite on a high floor with floor-to-ceiling windows the length of the entire room, showing amazing city views. The bathroom was large, spacious and well lit (so many dark bathrooms these days!...

I just came back from the Winter Fancy Food show in San Francisco. My company decided for our team to stay at the intercontinental on Howard street. I was very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Check in was perfect!! I got to my room and was delighted to see how up to date/modern the room was....

Mixed. The room, a corner with windows floor to ceiling on two sides, was excellent. View was amazing, bed was comfy, TV was great - everything I could have wanted. However the experience was badly let down by the customer service. When checking in the receptionist failed to grasp the concept of a company credit card so struggled to understand...

Dear Carl_The_Great, Your insights are highly valued and we thank you for your stay at the Intercontinental San Francisco, CA. I am pleased to learn that you gave our location a 5-star rating and that you found your corner room to be exceptional. I wish I read the other reviews about how this hotel was at the lower end of the spectrum for Intercontinental hotels. They were right! This hotel is a long way away from feeling luxurious, yet the prices say otherwise. Rooms: small, uninspiring, dated. Lobby is the only nice part of this hotel. It's like the hotel went through a...

Hi Wes H, Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback, we're glad to hear from one of our IHG Rewards Club members. Although I am pleased to see your almost perfect ratings for our staff's level of service and satisfactory ratings for location and cleanliness, it's regrettable to learn that the room's overall setup and decor fell below your...

We stayed in this holiday for 10 nights over Christmas. We paid extra $200 to be ambassdor, so we could have upgraded room, welcome gifts, water repln and late check out at 4pm. At check in, there was only 1 person there, she wasn't particularly friendly, however we got checked in pretty quick, so that was fine. Our room was...

This property has become my frequent home due to several last minute business trips to SF. It's easily accessible whether you're using BART, taxi, Uber or Lyft. Have your own vehicle? Attached parking is available, or use the garage at Fifth and Mission. The folks are friendly and accommodating and some of the views are incredible. The bar is attractive...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
