This is my third stay and I am sure I will be back. This is the perfect place to stay for a weekend shopping/sightseeing trip. I booked a king corner suite, and as an ambassador member I was upgraded to a corner jr suite on the 30th floor with views of the city. The bay bridge could be seen from...

I could not rave any more about this hotel! We went up to San Fran for my boyfriend's birthday and checked in easily. After being charged a bit extra than expected, I realised I had misunderstood how the standby upgrades worked. Basically I put in for two, seeing as it said you only get one. Turns out I accidentally put...

The hotel rooms are at Intercontinental are high end and the service at the hotel is good. The hotel is located south of Market street right next to the Metreon Mall and nearby Union Square Mall which has Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's and many other brand name stores if you interested in shopping during visit. There is indoor swimming pool and gym...

Let’s begin by saying that I’m a very laid back guy. I usually don’t complain much. It takes something pretty significant. I've never written a hotel review. This isn't a good one. I stayed at the Intercontinental hotel in San Francisco on the night of 5/23. For $530 I assumed that I would be getting a beautiful clean hotel room....

Amazing 5 star hotel. Location was perfect to watch the Bay to Breakers which ran right past the front of the hotel. Beautiful bar and restaurant on site. Room service was prompt and amazing food! Close to Market street and Bloomingdales.

Great location, friendly staff, comfy beds + linens, quick valet service + two public outdoor spaces on the 4th + 6th floors. The outdoor spaces are available to everyone and a little known gem of San Francisco. If you want a simple, quiet reprieve outside they are a great choice. Mostly set up with chairs and tables, a few outdoor...

Had my annual visit this weekend - still a great hotel with great staff. Bay to Breakers ran right pass the hotel. Lobby is under construction. The biggest surprise is that the tissues in the bathroom is the kind that you only find at low end properties - the kind that breaks apart as you use it. What is going...

I had a seminar for 3 days and my family (wife + 3 girls under 5) joined me for a long weekend. The first day was horrible from check in to wrong bedroom given (one king so our toddler had to spend the first night on the floor in a little cabin we made for her to make it fun)...

I was in town for only 2 nights and decided to stay at the intercontinental since they offered a great deal and it was close to where I needed to be. This was the 2nd time staying here in 2 years and much has changed. My first complaint was the horrible stench of cats in which I am allergic in...

Arrived at 9-30am and were allocated our room immediately. It was a lovely spacious, corner, junior suite with a King size bed. Both the bed and the pillows were very comfortable too-something not always experienced in hotels! It had a large television. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower and a bath. We had booked access to the...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
