Me and my wife stayed here as part of a road trip around the states. We booked it from the uk, it was called the "Pontiac Hotel". It is located quite centrally but is also located by drop in centre for San Francisco's homeless. The...More
Stayed here for two nights. Took the BART from the airport (SFO) to Mission/7th Street Station and walked about 4 minutes to get to the hotel. This was at night and walked down Minna Street and didn't have any problems.

The hotel and staff were fine, good self serve breakfast bar, i would call it more of a hostel than hotel as shared bathrooms and small rooms but fine. Unfortunatly the location wasnt as good mainly due to the many i mean lots of homeless...More

South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized
streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
