Hotel Vitale has a beautiful view of the bay. The concierge was always helpful answering all my questions and the room was wonderful. The only complaints I have is that I was charged for using the business ctr for less than 5 mins and I was charged for a service I cancelled. Otherwise, it is a beautiful hotel.

The Hotel Vitale came highly recommended to us and we loved everything about our stay. The location is wonderful and within easy walking distance to the waterfront, good restaurants, cable cars and shopping. The rooms are beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds, good views, very clean and obviously well cared for with great attention to detail. The hotel has a...

Everything as expected of a 4 star hotel. Best things is the location, its close proximity to excellent restaurants, public transportation and not a mention the view of the bay bridge. I got what I paid for in the heart of SF bay area. Make sure you get a room with a view of sea and/or bridge. The other side...

We upgraded from a Deluxe Waterfront to Circular Panorama. What a fabulous room with 180 degree view of the bay. Service was excellent in all aspects. I can say that my wife and I travel frequently for pleasure and both agree that Vitale was (as I said), Outstanding!

I didn't love this place the first time I stayed there - but the trick is to get a king room on a high floor. Lovely, large room, good light, great service, relaxing atmosphere....I would definitely go back.

I am a former Four Seasons Hotel employee and must say that The Hotel Vitale is right on up there! Non smoking building keeps it smelling fresh and clean. Easy SFO airport bart ride into the Embarcadero station with the hotel right around the corner. Excellent location. The staff exceeded our expectations. Room was fantastic with the deep soaking tube...

After going to a horrendous hotel in San Francisco we finally arrived at the HOTEL VITALE, fist thing that hits you is the amazing smell of lemon and lavander as you enter the lobby, and the helpful friendly staff, especially Anna on reception who was helpful, friendly and very professional. The room was in an amazing position overlooking the Ferry...

The location of the Vitale is excellent for anyone wanting to take in the waterfront area of San Francisco. Lots of great restaurants in the area within walking distance. The hotel is located on many bike paths that allow for a two wheel exploration of the harbour area as well as extending your ride across the Golden Gate Bridge and...

A perfect place to stay and add to your quintessential SF experience. Bay view rooms are an obvious preference but all the rooms are smartly designed & appointed. Americano restaurant does a great job and the staff is great, especially the amazingly cordial housekeepers! Hard to beat being able to walk across the street to Ferry Plaza, great location!

I like the location of this hotel since I have stayed around Union Square too much in the past and this is right across from the Ferry Plaza which is great. The only thing I can complain about is the pillow which are weird since you get 2 that are paper thin and 2 that are thicker and rock hard....

Kevincanada: Many find that the Embarcadero area is more relaxing than the hustle and bustle of Union Square, while still being close to all downtown San Francisco has to offer. The comfort of our guests is a top priority at Hotel Vitale, and I am disappointed to hear that your pillows did not exceed your expectations. In the future, you...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
