In the price range same as this hotel, choose anything else except this hotel. NEVER STAY HERE untill and unless this is a dire need and absolutely unavoidable. Reasons: 1. very unsafe location, though your would read that its on Market street blah blah blah, this is true it is close to shopping area and not that far from Moscone...

I needed to make a last minute trip to San Francisco and really didn't have a lot of money to spend. Thus, I found myself choosing between a few very inexpensive hotels and becoming increasingly worried about where I was going to find myself. When I arrived at Aida I'll admit it was relatively unlike any other hotel I have...

This hotel taught me so much about the importance of research. We went on a whim. Booked 2 days prior. Saw a good price and clicked buy. When you drive up, you immediately know that you are not going to walk anywhere in this part of town. Then you walk in the door and you say to yourself "what the...

I typically do not write online reviews but I've never had an experience as bad as this one so I felt like I had just had to leave feedback. Whatever you do, DO NOT STAY HERE. The cost was so high for such a dump. The place is a total dive. The area is pretty bad. There is no place...

This budget hotel was great. It had everything I was looking for: Right next to BART and MUNI stations, close to museums, elevator, very clean, spacious room, free tea and coffee, ATM in lobby, and the front desk was extremely helpful. The lady booked an airport shuttle for me which was nice. I will definitely stay again.

I have to say that this wouldn't have been the area I would've selected to stay in a hotel, but I get what I got. Aida is old & has that old smell to it, but it was built in 1912. They cannot change to make the hotel look like new because it is a Historical Landmark. Very ornate in...

Reasonable price (by San Francisco standard) but the hotel does not have parking. I ended up leaving my car in a parking structure that cost $46 per night (several choices nearby, average $35-$55 per 24 hour). Coffee and tea available all day long. Drug stores and fast food restaurants all around. Unfortunately, many many homeless people loitering day and night.

The good news: a block from the BART Central Plaza station, 20 minute walk to Moscone. The average news: the beds are not bad, there's good pressured hot water and they have towels. The bad news is there is no AC or fan (to drown out the Market Street sounds), no desk, table or counter (where do you put you...

The location is great, the price is lower than on average for San-Francisco. On the other hand the rooms are not very clean and there is a strong smell of dust. Plus one can here everything what happens in the neighboring room ...

But everything else is not I'm afraid. The room is small, the shared bathroom is also small. The area of the hotel might not be safe late at night but the tramp stops right in front of the hotel which is extremely convenient.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
