Enjoyed staying at PT hostel. Location is perfect, Financial district, Chinatown and the piers, everything within walking distance. The crew was friendly and helpful. Also, the communal area - connected to the kitchen - is very social. And clean too. Just like the washroom. Would definitely come back and stay again, esp. with the discount coupon I received at my...

my entire stay at PTW was filled with great experiences from listening to other travellers stories, to playing cards against humanity in the common room. My stay felt very safe and all the staff did an amazing job of making PTW feel like a home away from home

Friendly, accommodating employees! Can't go wrong with this lovely community! There were all nationalities and age rages represented here, and the guests all seemed very respectful. This hostel stands out from the rest!

This is a very welcoming, friendly, clean with a nice community of travelers. I appreciated that it was close to public transportation. Great home base for someone trying to explore the city for a few days.

You've got to love coming back to this hostel over and over again. Not only because it's located strategically close to many places (Embarcadero, Little Italy, Chinatown, etc), but mostly because of the people and the vibe here. Being my third time, I was already used to the stairs -a nice cardio, for sure- and the warm welcoming you have...

I stayed for 10 nights as a first stop on my extended travels and by the end of my time in SF, Pacific Tradewinds really felt like home. The hostel is relatively small in scale so you can get to know people and its nice to come back to a familiar and welcoming space each day. The hostel is kept...

House was nice and clean and well located in SF. People are very welcoming over there with a very responsive team that will help you about check in, check out and other concerns. The place is a little bit crowded but that’s the purpose of that kind of place and means the quality of their reputation. Don’t forget that shared...

I only stayed for 2 nights, but it felt like I'd been there forever. The staff was incredible and were great folks to hang out with, on and off-duty. They were all very knowledgeable and clearly fond of the city; I got lots of good tips and they even showed us around when they weren't working. The lounge area was...

I was on crutches for my stay and was a bit worried about getting up the stairs with my bag. I could not believe how incredibly helpful the entire community was - everyone was going out of their way to make sure I was ok and able to get to where I needed to be. As a bonus the bunks...

Traveled as a solo female in May for a few nights and extremely enjoyed the company. This hostel attracts like minds who freely open up conversation and openly share conversations and activities that you're welcome to join. You definitely will make friends! During my stay there were mostly guys but also some older couples 50+.. everyone has a different tale...

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
