Stayed here for 4 nights and we love this place. ESP the location! It's around 8mins to 10mins walk to union square and near convenience stores too. There's also a nice Japanese restaurant next to the hotel which serves nice and reasonable priced Japanese food. The hotel is abit tired but our room is spacious and clean. The breakfast was...

We spent 3 days in that hotel but it's not the best hotel ever: very very expensive (san francisco is very expensive) comparated to the quality of the hoel, the position was good, the room clean (but without view even if they proposed us a room with view) and the breakfast poor.

Amazing experience at Grant Hotel. I was a little bit sceptical after reading some of the reviews but those people must just be serial complainers but the hotel was great. The breakfast (although only sweet food) was very nice and a great way to start the day. All of the sweet breads were amazing. The room is outdated but clean...

We booked into this hotel for our last 3 nights in SF. We were looking for a budget hotel in a nice location and we were very happy with our choice. It was budget but we had everything we wanted, except a fridge. The room was large, our bed was very comfy and the bathroom although small was everything it...

When asked then to turn on the heat, the reception wouldn't Had to call and ask again, still no heat. Very weird behavior overall by reception. Rooms are moldy. They have not changed the linen, I needed it fresh, again they did not do it. Very disappointing and it's expensive as well.

Before I go into detail it seems that the same problem seems to be cropping a lot on reviews....how bad the receptionists were etc. I'm going to have to agree. No welcoming smile, anytime I went down or said hello going in and out there was no smile or greeting. From what I saw there seemed to be more interesting...

The lobby was clean and nice, but rather small. The concierge was excellent. We booked a day trip to Yosemite from them. The room was comfortable and not too noisy. Although very small. We only used it for sleeping so it was adequate. It is located by Union Square so it was easy to get wherever we wanted to in...

This is a basic tourist class hotel. It is clean and maintained. It is a fairly typical older small hotel near Union Square; relative to SF hotel prices, the price is very fair. The morning coffee and rolls are good. The staff is friendly, polite and very helpful. My room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. One nice...

We stayed for 2 nights when arriving in San Francisco. Rooms were basic, fairly large bed a bit hard but nice & clean with a good bathroom. Pastries were for breakfast which was a good start to the day. Good place to stay & close to union square.

For the price, we had no complaints. We chose place on price, and used the room as a place to sleep, and it did the job. The shower was good, the bathroom modern and clean. The view was of a brick wall, but as we only used the place to sleep it wasn't an issue. Didn't try breakfast, but the...
