This motel is fairly cheap (consider SF prices). Unfortunately it is a "cheap" motel in every sense. The hotel consists of multiple buildings with different entrances in the block. You are given a full key chain to access everything, and then are sent to find the rather unmarked doorway to your building. Pray you get a room that looks towards...

We liked this place a lot. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and everything was clean. We would stay here again. There are excellent restaurants within half a block. Chez Maman is on the corner.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights during our recent road trip around western USA. The reception staff were really sweet and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and fresh however unfortunately there was hardly any room to move around. No tea or coffee making facilities in guests rooms however cookies and instant...

We had a good stay here! the rooms are pricey, seen as you don't get a bathroom in your room but we soon realised that San Fransisco is very expensive, especially for food!! subway every night for us on a travellers budget! but to be fair I didn't meet anyone on my way to the bathroom or toilet so I...

Our room was cutely decorated. It was clean and comfy. The neighborhood was great. There are many restaurants and bars nearby and there were a lot of different people, locals and tourists, young and old. Breakfast was served at the lovely kitchen. Be prepared to share your table with other guests as there are just few of them. The guests...

This was a great place to stay while visiting San Francisco for a conference. It's surrounded by great restaurants and bars, and is right on the bus line for quick access to the heart of San Francisco and the conference center. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was pretty good, and was served in a community room with a...

Stayed her for eight days at the end of July. Great value for your money. Spotlessly clean. friendly, helpful staff. Quiet. Other guests nice and unobtrusive. Great neighborhood with cafes, restaurants, boutiques. Short walk to symphony. Great bus connections.

Hayes st and all its cafes and restaurants are right on your doorstep. All forms of public transport are only a block away. You have to walk three or four blocks in any direction before you find a hill. Shared toilets and shower are super clean! A little noisy and rooms don't have shade blocker blinds but I think that's...

Hayes Valley Inn isn't the most luxurious hotel but it really is comfort at its best. I'm not one for shared bathrooms and like a luxury on holiday, but with what is essentially a 'city break' this hotel is perfect. The rooms are homely, need a little updating, but on the whole comfortable and have everything you need. Breakfast is...

My daughter and I recently spent a few nights at Hayes Valley Inn. We found it very clean and comfortable and despite my reservations about a share bathroom and toilet this was not a problem. The 'help-yourself-breakfast' was lovely fresh fruit, cereals, cheese, ham and delicious muffins. Hayes Valley Inn will truly be part of our treasured memories of our...

Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway.
