No complaints about this lovely property. There have been some reviews mentioning the dicey location, but even for the first time visitor there are ways around this. My husband and I are avid walkers (esp. when staying in SF) so we simply walk up Van...More

I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed us your second time around, and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.
It is difficult to draw negative comments about this hotel and I do not want to repeat the same applause about this hotel. So, I just make a few notes that may be helpful.

I would recommend this hotel, if you are looking for something a little different. Rooms, while on the small side, are beautifully furnished and spotless.
Staff are friendly. Continental breakfast is quite good and served in a lovely dining room.
I stayed here for two separate nights mid January 2011. One night in room 21 and one night in room 65. Both rooms were 'ballet suites' and VERY TINY! I wondered how in the world the staff put in a queen sized beds in these...More

I'm sure they would let you pay for your guest's breakfast. It's based on honor system. People just go to breakfast from their rooms. I'm sure the hotel won't know how many people in your party since there is no checking at breakfast. That said, I would be honest and frank with the front desk and ask them about purchasing breakfast for a non-guest.

We have booked a stay here but don't have a vehicle.
Is the location safe and convenient for visiting tourist attractions?
Any idea on Lyft and Uber costs to go to attractions such as North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Embarcardero, Union Square or can you suggest convenient public transport options. Many Thanks.
