The Casa Loma Hotel was clean and comfortable. I stayed with a friend in a twin room with private bath. It was small and basic, but everything we needed for our stay. The coffee machine in the lobby and free wifi (with excellent reception from our room and lobby), were great perks. The price was reasonable and the location was...

I stayed here recently on a solo trip in San Fran and what a pleasant surprise, not sure what the bad reviews were complaining about, the rooms were very clean, the staff was amazing I wish I asked their names to give credit here. And the shared bath facilities were impeccably clean. If you are on a budget I see...

We came here based on price and decent reviews. Would not stay here. We have a room on the second floor. There is no elevator. The window would not lock. A tree was toward the window as well. It seemed very unsafe. People live there (as opposed to people vacationing there). While we were there a lady came in off...

The staff was very nice and helpful! The area was close to downtown, which was helpful. There were a lot of places to eat nearby which were delicious! I definitely recommend this place to those who want something budget friendly!

Stayed there during the summer holidays; lovely sized room, nice and airy as well. The beds were comfy enough but a little wobbly; not really much of a problem though. Communal toilets/shower weren't really a problem either, it wasn't a very busy hotel when I was there and everything was clean. Wouldn't have gotten through the trip without the free...

We stayed for 3 nights, the staff was very friendly. Everything was very basic. We had some party people in the room next to us. The staff was fast to tell them to be quiet. My advise should be to bring earplugs. The location is very good.

Style: There's 12 foot ceilings in the reception on the first floor that contains a modest table where the receptionist sits, a 20 year old leather covered sagging couch with matching foot rest, and the coffee machine. Included with your stay, it'll steam your milk for a latte or drip your coffee, at all hours of the day. There's a...

We stayed there for 4 nights and it was good despite not having an elevator and have to use the stairs. They accommodated our request to have a room on the first floor which is more of a mezzanine above the hotel lobby and they had our 2 rooms beside each other as 1 room has a private bathroom and...

The hotel is very basic, but has everything you need. We stayed in a shared bathroom/toilet room. The shared amenities were always clean and we never had to wait. The hotel is conveniently located between several buslines making it easy to get around. The neighborhood has some nice restaurant/cafe and take-out places. The only downside of the hotel is that...

I just stayed at the Casa Loma Hotel for two nights during a recent visit to San Francisco. First, the PROS: a large clean room with two (albeit prison-sized) twin beds and a sink (very clean toilets and showers down the hall -- as advertised); nice front desk people; free gourmet coffee in reception; great WiFi; good location. Now, the...
