I had to stay at this place because I wanted to walk to the independent (music venue). I know it is a 2 star "hotel", but in that case it was very expensive considering the Hilton San Francisco was only 50 dollars more !!! Incredible... shame I had to be at that area and the nice hotels were kinda far...

Location was great. Few blocks away from cafes/grocery store. Booked a room with private bathroom. Room was spacious. Even had a table and chairs. Bed was comfortable although the pillows were too soft. TV channel selection were good as well. The staff were super super friendly and helpful. Felt like we were having conversations with good friends. Free flow of...

As I travel to San Francisco for work through the years, I find it just becomes more and more unaffordable. While it is difficult to find anything under $100 (after taxes, unless you stay in a dorm bed of a youth hostel), usually the cheap accommodations are quite crappy, or in very inconvenient locations. Thus, it is good to find...

Well, the price is certainly right, and we loved being on Fillmore. The rooms feel less like hotel rooms and more like a room in a shared flat--especially with the shared baths down the hall! (The bathrooms and showers were spotless, though, unlike any shared flat I've lived in.) Our first room had a broken window which felt unsafe, so...

We got the twin deluxe room—two single beds and our own bathroom. While the room is small, it's still liveable. Our room seems to have been renovated, but a lot of the rooms on our floor—the third floor—are still a work in progress. Some downsides: 1. The water pressure in the shower is very weak 2. The hot water in...

I stayed at the Casa Loma Hotel for 4 nights in late February in a queen room with shared bathroom. The room was very basic but clean and had a sink in the room which was useful, and the shared bathrooms were always clean and I didn't ever have to wait to use them. The only issue I had was...

The room we chose had a bathroom inside, some of the rooms has not, so careful when making the reservation. The room is really cozy and big enough for a couple and its baggage. In the entrance there are some choices of coffee available for free and really good! The only problem was that in the evening the stairs has...

The Casa Loma Hotel was clean and comfortable. I stayed with a friend in a twin room with private bath. It was small and basic, but everything we needed for our stay. The coffee machine in the lobby and free wifi (with excellent reception from our room and lobby), were great perks. The price was reasonable and the location was...

I stayed here recently on a solo trip in San Fran and what a pleasant surprise, not sure what the bad reviews were complaining about, the rooms were very clean, the staff was amazing I wish I asked their names to give credit here. And the shared bath facilities were impeccably clean. If you are on a budget I see...

We came here based on price and decent reviews. Would not stay here. We have a room on the second floor. There is no elevator. The window would not lock. A tree was toward the window as well. It seemed very unsafe. People live there (as opposed to people vacationing there). While we were there a lady came in off...
