Hotel is definitely outdated. Room was quite large, bed was comfortable, but furnishings, bathroom fixtures are old. Best thing about it was price which includes free parking and the location was great - close to Fisherman's Wharf, Starbucks and a Walgreens. It's a 10-15 minute walk to Washington Square area in North Beach with lots of great restaurants. I'd probably...

There is so much good stuff with this hotel. We had 4 nights here, and would not hesitate to stay again. The guys on the front desk were brilliant - great advice on where to go to eat, walking to the wharf, North Beach, Pat's Cafe (for breakfast) and what not to miss while in town. They advised us to...

I wasn't expecting much so I wouldn't be disappointed. I wasn't. The front desk guys were very nice and I could park my car there for free even before we checked in. The room was great and even had a balcony. It was clean all around. Big screen TV and no ugly pictures on the wall. Its about a 10...

Stayed 4 nights here and here's my review. Pros: Staff are friendly and polite. Even has an option for us not to require house keeping which i think its great. We don't wash our towels daily so there's no need to do so on holiday. Neither do we empty our bins daily. Great move towards environment conservation. Many tv channels....

We stayed here back in 1985! When we planned to spend a few days in SF, we looked it up to see if it was still around. Still a great value and a great location in SF. We walked down to Fisherman's Wharf, also to Lombard St, the Cable Car Museum, and Coet Tower (yes, we did a lot of...

Stayed here for a couple of days during a multi-day vacation in CA starting in SF. I've been to SF a number of times and know the basic layout, and have an understanding of the compromises of various location. North Beach is slightly off the beaten trail, as far as tourists go, but it's certainly convenient to the rest of...

We have just returned from 4 nights at the Columbus Motor inn. We booked the family room which had a queen bed in 1 room and 2 doubles in the other, perfect space for our family of 4 adults. Nothing fancy however everything that we needed and a great price compared to all other hotels in the area. Free parking...

Excellent location, good sized room albeit a tad old fashioned but superbly clean, coffee was excellent (in the room) and just a few minutes walk to fisherman's wharf, Pier 39, Ghirardelli square and china town. Shuttle to & fro Union Park stops right outside. Bike rentals nearby. If you want, you can walk to the golden gate bridge using the...

This inn is located in the Italian district. This place has free parking, so for the money it's well worth it! It's a small place. The room is dated, but is well kept. We only stayed one night, if we were staying more than two nights I would have chosen a different hotel.

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
