Hotel del Sol is great - clean, bright, convenient, friendly staff, parking, pool, safe and so close to everything. We stay here for every visit to SF! Breakfast in the morning and warm cookies in the evening.

My wife and I always enjoy staying here whenever we attend events in the Marina District. The staff are attentive, professional and know the area very well. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nice decorated in the classic Joie de Vivre style for the individual hotel. This one is a 50's style classic motor hotel with modern in room amenities....

We stayed here for 2 nights in April 2016. This hotel stylish and kitsch, modern and retro at the same time. Situated near the Cow Hollow area, and only a short walk from the Marina District and down to Fisherman's Wharf. We booked a double room but were upgraded to a suite. Clean and spacious bedroom with a large comfy...

We were upgraded to a junior suite on the third floor when we stayed here Feb. 6-7th. We wanted to stay near the Magic Theater and explore an area of San Francisco we had never visited. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was vintage 50's, as was the theme of the hotel. Bed and room were very comfortable....

The concierge was great, room was amazing, big, nicely decor, and the location is great !, Really recommend this hotel to visit San Francisco. The included breakfast, though you have to eat at your own room, is a sufficient and is a nice detail.

This is one of at least a dozen old-school motor lodges in/near the Marina District. The location is good and the rooms are clean, if a bit spartan (tiny stall shower!). The front desk folks were friendly and gave good advice about the area. Probably wouldn't stay here again because I wasn't totally comfortable with a door that could be...

Excellent accommodation and so close to all you need to see and do in SF. Staff were very friendly and very informative. Breakfast was a bonus and we loved the all day cookies which were available with a friendly conversation. Rooms were clean and there were many places to eat nearby.

Arriving at the Hotel Del Sol, I initially saw what I expected to get – a budget stay in San Francisco. Over the next week, I developed a fond affection for the place, not in the least because it represents not a San Francisco boutique hotel, but rather a classic California motor lodge. Highlights: – There are two kinds of hotels....

Hotel del Sol was a delight. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome - the freshly baked pastries and friendly service definitely contributed to this! This was a very family friendly place, Edric was so kind to the kids. They leaped into the heated pool (despite it being the first day of winter!), lounged in the hammocks and gazed...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
