I walked from the BART station at Civic Center, west and north to Harrison Street. The neighborhood looked somewhat shabby, with warehouses and other commercial buildings, The unprepossesing appearance of the Bay Bridge Inn, which was essentially a motel with no lobby and all rooms with doors opening onto the parking lot was not encouraging. But once inside my room,...

We spent two nights so we could walk to two Giants games - one a day game, one a night game. Safe and easy walk both days. Very comfortable and quiet. The Room was clean and well taken care of. The manager made sure we had everything we needed. Good restaurants nearby all within walking distance. We were also able...

Very noisy all night long. People screaming outside. Staff knocking at our door all morning long... very annoying! The room is ok, clean and well equiped (refrigerator, coffee machine). The bathroom is clean.

The hotel looks nice. The rooms have been renovated and the location is convenient. The neighborhood seems little sketchy at first, but it's typical San Francisco. Bed bugs were what ruined it for us on the first night and the hotel did not honor a refund. There is no customer service to speak of beside a property manager.

Hotel owner was very helpfull and explained us where to go and not to go in the city. Daily cleaned room, good size, good shower. Complete with microwave, fridge and hairdryer in room. Near the city center in a safe neighbourhood. Free parking which is uncommon in San Francisco.

I booked this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews, and because the previous hotel I stayed in when visiting SF had tripled in price in the last 6 years; San Francisco accommodation seems to have become very expensive. The location is fairly central SoMA (South of Market), roughly half way between the Powell St BART and the SF Caltrain, so works...

Booked this inn for its close proximity to AT&T park but was hesitant because of low price and the area...After arriving I was greeted by the front desk gentlemen and quickly was at ease because of his great personality and his helpfulness. First time to San Fransisco. The staff was super nice and he showed us here the place place to visit. The room was very clean and the price is affordable when you are on a budget. The only down side is the limited parking space.

Not much more to be said. Staff very friendly and reception is open 24/7, it's in soma so easy to get to the city centre either via foot or a cab. Room was large and cleaned daily. Cable TV, wifi and a huge bed. Great value too. I think I ended up paying $95 a night, which in SF is...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
