We didn't even stop there, we booked it last minute. I just wish we had time to check the reviews. It was in a horrible place, loads of homeless people outside, a pimp with prostitutes and generally loads of crazy people walking around outside. We have stayed all over the world and never left a hotel because we couldn't stay... More

Stayed here as everywhere else was busy. On the positive side, location is accessible to Union Square and BART. Rooms and facilities are old and in poor condition but I found staff helpful. Biggest downside is the area - best to use Uber at night. Difficult to sleep because of shouting and screaming outside. Suggest avoiding this hotel unless no... More

Booked the Regency for 1 night in Frisco without checking trip advisor. I regret not having done this .Old, worn rooms, dirty bath room, crappy service, lousy breakfast, noisy neighbourhood with a lot of homeless people (the poor souls) Way way to expensive for what you will get. It is a disgrace for what they are charging

I tried to cancel te reservation but they said they could not and Hotwire would not. I asked the hotel manager... More

The hotel is worn and dirty and the area is horrible. There are homeless people and open drug use outside and when you walk towards Powell there is a high chance that you will step in someones feces or piss floating in the street. The "breakfast" is just bananas and toast. During the middle of the night the radiator started... More

Quaint and cozy. Only slept there. They were very helpful at checkout and in. My window was blocked by a wall and at times you could hear people shouting outside. A bit scary! =/ I had a nice big screen TV. Bring your own conditioner. And an iron if your clothes get wrinkly.

We got this hotel through hotwire hot rate and boy were we in for a surprise. This is definitely NOT a 2.5 stars that hotwire boasts, this hotel deserves no stars at all. This was our first time in San Francisco and wanted a place close to everything, but it happened to be in the ghetto area as others have... More
