We live in San Francisco and visited for a 1-night stay as a treat to escape the kids. We found the arrival very warm, and the bar area was great fun for a Saturday night or drinks and food. Some fun characters coming in and out, live piano, good atmosphere. The food was lovely ... The hotel room was pretty...

In terms of the hotel and it's facilities I cannot fault The Scarlet. The rooms are clean and comfortable with facilities and furnishings of a superior quality. Rooms are spacious and being perched high on Nob Hill have fantastic views. The onsite pool is small but perfectly formed, again with great views across the city. The Big 4 restaurant is...

We stayed here 2 nights. Location is fairly central. Was quite a hike uphill though at the night's end from Chinatown. We used uber to get around often. Nice view. Comfortable bed. Honestly didn't spend much time in the room. Gym was small but did the trick for a quick workout. Spa looked nice but didn't partake. A/c was sort...

We stayed here for three nights. It is located in a quiet area of San Francisco although there are some restaurants and cafes within a short walk. There rooms are larger than usual for San Francisco, clean and modern in style. The staff are really friendly and offered directions and helpful (and much needed) instructions for using the train. A...

A bit of preserved old world charm and elegance at affordable rates. Not thoroughly modernized -- which allows opening windows. Excellent new gym facilities. Average, expensive restaurant. All the conveniences -- and inconveniences -- of Nob Hill location [easy downhill, tough uphill; not a lot of conveniences in immediate environs, though there's a general grocery nearby and a café next...

This hotel is a lovely old luxurious hotel with charming staff and a fabulous location. In addition, the Big Four Restaurant is elegant yet cozy and an absolutely charming place to have lunch, dinner or drinks. The hotel has old fashion charm and alert, yet subtle staff. I will say it again. I am charmed! The hotel is nicely updated...

Just came back from a 7-night stay in a wonderful penthouse suite. Very well-appointed and quite large with extra tall ceilings and a grande sitting room. Bedroom was great as well and most importantly had an incredibly comfortable bed. Only downside was that the shower took several minutes to warm up and there was minimal technology to plug into. Otherwise...

This is a great place to stay in terms of excellent service and great bar, go early, it's crowded, good food and great location. Near a park and cathedral on top of Knob hill. We were there for 3 days and very much enjoyed the facility.

Booked this for our wedding trip, got married in SF. What an amazing hotel. The photos on their website don't do it justice. The entrance lobby is stunning, even more so as it was decorated for the holidays with a big colorful Christmas Tree taking centre stage. The bell staff take care of all your luggage on arrival and transfer...

I have stayed at The Huntington Hotel many times in the last 12 years. The rooms are large compared to most hotels and the suites had modified kitchens in them. Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
