I have had amazing experiences at InterContinentals. Not this one. Terrible front desk check in and manager on duty. First impression was that they were more resentful of the low rate I had booked than they were interested in giving me the recognition and benefits that I have gotten used to as an IHG Platinum tiered member. I've traveled millions...

The hotel is well located, the welcome is professional and detailed and the concierge service a real plus! Room was good, clean quiet but not modern. Compared to other intercontinental hotels breakfast was a bit disappointing with quality food but less choice, scrambled eggs were dry and overcooked and I had to wait to toast bread as one of toaster...

We were surprised to see such competitive room rates at an Intercontinental Hotel so we were even more surprised to see that this translated to truly great value. We loved the history of the beautiful building and found it to be quite well kept. True Intercon service from the moment you arrive, from the cheery doormen to the teddy bear...

Got room upgraded to king room on 16th floor with viewing to city. Hotel is at very good location and close to both cable car lines. This hotel is in a historic building. My room was just beside the elevator and a little noisy.

Flew into San Francisco on our way for a week in Napa. Stayed here. Quick and efficient check in. Rooms (2) were clean and spacious. Both on 8th floor. Went to Top of The Mark for cocktails and although they were very busy the service was very good. Drinks were too. Had breakfast the next morning and it too was...

The best thing about the hotel is their rooftop lounge. It is actually enclosed, but the views are great and the drinks, although priced to reflect the height, were tasty. The check in service was a little slow, the rooms comfortable and well maintained, but the elevators are slow, the newspapers we requested were not delivered, and the extra towels...

We've stayed at the Mark several times before. We were quite happy with the hotel despite a minor issue. We had asked for turn-down service several times with no success. The view from our room was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Having drinks and appetizers at the Top of the Mark was excellent

This top of Nob Hill hotel affords some of the best views of the city, bay and golden gate bridge but you don't want to make the very steep climb from Union Square by foot. Take a cab or the Powell st trolley to this friendly hotel and enjoy a warm welcome, good food, and martinis at the Top of...

I will keep this brief: Pros: - Hotel is located ontop of the hill. The view is breathtaking (depending on your room type) - Skybar with a great San Francisco, Bay Area view Cons: - Dated room - I recommend you open your windows to air your room out once you check-in - Stained furniture - You will noticed stained...

Pros: Nicely appointed hotel with great customer service. Beautiful rooftop restaurant with awesome views. Nice lobby space. Con: It's an old hotel that has been renovated. As such, the bathrooms are exceptionally small which was annoying. Being at the top of the hill in a very hilly city, every time you walk back to the hotel it's an arduous uphill...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
