My husband and I stayed at the beautiful renovated Beaux Artes Palace Hotel for a weekend visit with friends. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even upgraded us when we arrived. The room was beautifully appointed with comfortable bed and bathroom, also very quiet even though it was on Market. Breakfast brunch in the Garden Court was expensive but...

I've stayed in several hotels in the area (check my reviews if you want) and this is my favorite! Additionally, great room price and decent wifi. Excellent location: easy walk to bay, chinatown, dining, financial, shopping, etc. Liked the old school exterior. Loved the beautiful lobby and interior. Valet, doorman and front desk keep the luxe vibe going. Rooms with...

Recently renovated updated classic historical luxury. When you walk in you still feel the historical San Francisco of the past but with a touch of the modern day conveniences. The hotel lobby houses the Garden Court restaurant and bar that offers meals and drink services during the day, it is a great location for meet ups or to relax and...

It truly feels like you have gone to Europe when you step into the Palace Hotel. The Garden Room with live music is a must. The floral arrangements throughout are exquisite. The rooms are ample and beds quite comfortable. The pool is amazing with the glass ceiling. You won't want to leave.

In addition to being ideally located in downtown San Francisco, the check-in was prompt and courteous. Staff goes out of its way to be helpful! I particularly appreciated the helpful and informed tips provided by Debbie Lew at the Concierge Desk!

Stunning! I had such a great time staying with at this hotel. Their roof top heated pool was really good. Friendly staff and great restaurant at the lobby. Seriously beautiful rooms with comfortable beds. Room service was also excellent when we ordered our breakfast. Can't wait to come back!!

Our family of four just experienced a great stay at The Palace. It is a historic hotel in a perfect location of San Francisco. It is walking distance to Chinatown, shopping, and great dining. The concierge team assisted us with a one day car rental delivered and returned to the hotel which simplified things greatly. The hotel staff is very...

A stunningly beautiful, historic property - centrally located for ease of sightseeing! The room was STUNNING!! I can't explain how wonderful the suite was - everything about it was classic & comfortable! As was the lobby & Garden Court, where live piano music is played. Having a glass of wine, listening to music & taking in the elegance of this...

Our stay here was wonderful. Very clean updated rooms. It is just a few steps away from the subway which was wonderful. Plus the Ghirardelli chocolate store on the ground floor was a nice treat after a day of walking the streets of San Francisco .

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
