It's a survivor of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. This 1870's house still stands because the great fires stopped one block away. Walk through the mahogany front doors and enter the quiet, peaceful world of a wonderfully preserved Victorian home. The owner will share stories, while offering you a sip of sherry or port in the Parlor. There is always... More

It was lovely to stay in such a beautiful and classic San Francisco building. We arrived early for our four night stay after a very early morning flight. We were able to check straight into our room and we were offered breakfast! Really positive first impression! We found all the staff really helpful with maps, transport information and a list... You have to love old buildings if you want to stay here. Old buildings aren't perfect, they have an odor and they are creaky. But they are beautiful and a part of history that should be preserved and enjoyed. Pros- Light, healthy options breakfast with lots of fruit and you can fit it in your schedule. From the moment we arrived at the Inn we were treated like family. We stayed in the garden cottage on a girls trip and it was so perfect for us. Everyone knew our names within minutes of our arrival, they had amazing recommendations for dinner, shopping etc. Leza and Kat were both awesome and we enjoyed chatting with Marty the... More

I stayed her for two nights with my 6 year old daughter, Friendly from the off. We were in the second house, and found it fine. The building is an old building so will have certain defects! This is surely par for the course. We shared a bathroom which I was a little dubious about. It turned out fine, It... More

I had not been to San Francisco for 20 years and was ecstatic about returning. We chose the inn because of its reasonable price and reviews. The room we stayed for the first three nights was lovely with a large clean jacuzzi surrounded by white tiles and plants that made it a wonderfully relaxing experience. The buffet style breakfast which... More

Mission District location on a busy street, Good luck with parking. Easy walk to Castro. Our room was stuffy, however the windows open for an occasional breeze. Large featherbed, heavy linens, lot of hot water in the shower. Bath amenities were a disappointment. Nice buffet breakfast with baked goods, quiche, cold cuts and cheeses, plentiful fruit selection, hot or cold... More

My friend and I decided to take a trip to San Francisco and stayed at the Inn San Francisco for 3 nights and 4 days. The Inn was very well-kept both inside and out and the room was just as promised - as was the shared & outside spaces open 24 hours to guests. The back garden area was so... More

My husband and I used to live in the Mission District a couple years ago and we had our parents stay here when they were visiting us. This was my third time at the Inn San Francisco. The place has retained a great atmosphere, full of charm and a personality of its own. The description of the rooms on the website properly reflects what they are like. No hidden tricks. This B&B is really clean and efficiently run. Marty and all the staff are incredibly welcoming and... More

Staying in Mission District

Neighbourhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighbourhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in the country.
