I was delighted at the character of Hotel Griffon and the attentive staff! The rooms are thoughtfully designed with modern touches but a historic feel. The restaurant had great food and service. My only regret was only being able to stay one night.
Always love our stay at the Hotel Griffon, it's our hotel of choice whenever we are in town. The customer service is exemplary, quiet comfortable accommodations and the turndown w/chocolates always makes me smile. It's a wonderful touch that sets it apart. We've stayed here...More

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending four nights at Hotel Griffon, November 8 - 12, 2018.

We stayed here for the first night of the honeymoon and, after checking in, they brought us up a complimentary bottle of champagne as a congratulations. Unfortunately our room didn't have a view, as we had asked for, but it was quiet and (in all...More

South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized
streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.

It was a little bit confusing because when I first went there I checked their website and it sounded like there would be parking available, as if you could get a pass with your room(?) but when I arrived I as informed that the only option the hotel offered was a valet service that seemed very expensive (to me). However there was overnight street parking available--possibly not the best choice, as long as you were prepared to move the vehicle before 8 AM. A friend had lent me their car, and so that worked quite well for me. It is definitely a consideration (the associated price of parking), but generally I take an Uber to and from the airport and use the MUNI or CalTrain public transit if I need to, but typically I walk everywhere on these business trips. YMMV
