In February a friend and I stayed at Union Street inn for a few days. Our room was called English Garden, a very comfortable and enjoyable room. Breakfast was served in a most pleasant manner. Great shopping and restaurant within walking distance. Bus stop directly in front of inn made visiting San Francisco very easy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent two night stay at the Union Street Inn. It was our second stay in the Carriage House, we liked the spacious, comfortable area and the beautiful, peaceful garden. Our charming hostess, Kit, spared no effort in making our visit an memorable experience. She prepared delicious breakfasts and gave us great advice about local restaurants, scenic...

We have stayed at the Inn several times for numerous days each time and never want to leave to go back home. It felt like we were part of the family there with hot breakfast every morning and wine and cheese in the evening. The staff there are very welcoming, personable and helpful. The location is fantastic and readily within...

Fabulous, old fashioned (in a good way) B&B/Inn in a upmarket area of San Francisco. We stayed in Union Street Inn for two nights this March and enjoyed every minute of it. The hosts Kit and Chuck were great! Both very friendly, helpful and informative. The breakfasts cooked by Kit were delicious. We liked the small touches such as leaving...

I stayed in the Wild Rose room at the top of the stairs--beautiful, spacious, and a nice comfy king bed. The staff of the inn could not be more kind or helpful, and the place is very nicely appointed with antiques, rugs, etc. My favorite spot is actually the garden, though I barely had time to hang out in it....

We had the wonderful experience of a week in Union Street Inn while visiting our son in San Francisco. The Inn is perfectly situated on the trendy Union Street-- just steps to fabulous restaurants, boutiques (don't miss seeing "Anomie" shop), spas, and a short walk to the marina. The Inn is a charming 18th century experience, with beautifully decorated rooms,...

My husband and I just got back from a trip to San Francisco and we stayed at the Union Street Inn for 4 nights in the Carriage House. I can't say enough good things about it! Our room was gorgeously appointed and very clean, attention was paid to all of the little details. The location of the Inn was absolutely...

Met a girlfriend in San Fran for a long weekend and stayed at the Union Street Inn. Kit and the staff were wonderful. Inn was located in a great spot with walking distance to shops and restaurants and an easy Uber ride all over the city! Rooms were clean and cozy and breakfast prepared to order each morning was a...

A charming Bed&Breakfast, located in the heart of the Marina. Going downtown is very easy - there is a bus stop right near the place (it is indicated by a vague yellow sign on a pole!). Going to the bay is a short walk - many places rent bikes to cross the Golden Gate. Many restaurants around offer excellent food....

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
