We stayed for almost a week and found all the hosts delightful and interesting. The other guests were congenial when we met in the late afternoon for wine and fruit and cheese. Breakfasts were enjoyed by all. There was something for everyone. Our room was clean and comfortable.

Our daughter moved to San Francisco last year and we saw the charming Union Street Inn when we were exploring her new neighborhood during our first visit. This will be our "home" as long as SF is HER home! The location is just perfect for exploring San Francisco. The rooms are charming and comfortable. The Inn staff was so friendly...

We stayed at this charming B&B for 6 Nights and truly loved it. The service is personal and real and every effort is made to accommodate the guests. Chuck, Kitt and Herb were wonderful hosts and had excellent suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We stayed in the Holly room on the second floor facing the garden;...

My husband I recently returned from San Francisco CA. While we were there, we stayed at the Union Street Inn for 2 nights while visiting local sights on our bucket list. The Union Street Inn is located in a very convenient area with easy access to local sights and restaurants. Kit, David and Herb were delightful! They were able to...

Everything about this lovely inn in the Cow Hollow area was perfect. All of the staff that we met were so helpful, David, Chuck, Herb, and Kit. We stayed in the Wild Rose room and it was beautiful and comfortable. There was a beautiful live orchid in our room along with a welcome basket of fruit, chocolates and a Britta...

In February a friend and I stayed at Union Street inn for a few days. Our room was called English Garden, a very comfortable and enjoyable room. Breakfast was served in a most pleasant manner. Great shopping and restaurant within walking distance. Bus stop directly in front of inn made visiting San Francisco very easy.

We have stayed at the Inn several times for numerous days each time and never want to leave to go back home. It felt like we were part of the family there with hot breakfast every morning and wine and cheese in the evening. The staff there are very welcoming, personable and helpful. The location is fantastic and readily within...

Fabulous, old fashioned (in a good way) B&B/Inn in a upmarket area of San Francisco. We stayed in Union Street Inn for two nights this March and enjoyed every minute of it. The hosts Kit and Chuck were great! Both very friendly, helpful and informative. The breakfasts cooked by Kit were delicious. We liked the small touches such as leaving...

I stayed in the Wild Rose room at the top of the stairs--beautiful, spacious, and a nice comfy king bed. The staff of the inn could not be more kind or helpful, and the place is very nicely appointed with antiques, rugs, etc. My favorite spot is actually the garden, though I barely had time to hang out in it....

We had the wonderful experience of a week in Union Street Inn while visiting our son in San Francisco. The Inn is perfectly situated on the trendy Union Street-- just steps to fabulous restaurants, boutiques (don't miss seeing "Anomie" shop), spas, and a short walk to the marina. The Inn is a charming 18th century experience, with beautifully decorated rooms,...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
