A beautiful guest house with breakfast and parking ! Michelle was friendly and accommodating and we will definitely stay here again on another visit to San Francisco. Especially important during these times, the guest house maintained social distancing, cleanliness, hand sanitizer and breakfast individually wrapped. I felt safe at all times. Highly Recommend!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Parker House during our recent visit to SF. The location is perfect because it’s right next to Muni for public transportation and located near both Castro and Market Streets. When we arrived early the staff was super helpful and got us use of a bathroom to freshen up because our room was not available until the afternoon. The stay was delightful with a really nice continental breakfast provided everyday. The room was large with great natural light and a nice bathroom. Carol the new manager of the property and her husband Brian couldn’t have been nicer! Every request we had was handled perfectly. The number of seating area’s inside and outside coupled with a beautiful garden and fountain made the visit a very memorable one. We definitely plan on staying again whenever we return to San Francisco! Thanks so much!

Parker House is a home away from home, with a sylvan patio and backyard, outfitted with comfy chairs and tables and a burbling fountain. Rooms are beautifully appointed and immaculate. We visited the candy dish in the front hallway every day! Bob and Bill are friendly, helpful hosts and the rest of the staff … Michele, George, Dennis et. al. … the same. Breakfasts are fresh and the coffee is strong and delish. Offerings for happy hour … cheese, crackers, fruit and always a decent bottle of wine … make for the perfect respite after a long day of sightseeing. We loved the location too … out of the hurly/burly and street drama of the Castro but easily accessible. Mission Dolores Park is across the street and we strolled there every day. A green lung for sure!

We stayed in an economy room with a private hallway bathroom which as the name suggests, is the smallest and least expensive room type. This room worked for us for a short, 2-night stay but it may not be suitable for all so it may be helpful to know the following prior to booking…

First of all if you are traveling with heavy luggage, know that there are stairs outside to get into the building and stairs to get up to the room. We were in room 22 on the 2nd floor. The room itself was bigger and more comfortable than I expected. We were able to store both our suitcases easily in the closet. There was also an easy chair, desk and good sized Smart TV. The bathroom was for our exclusive use but it was down the hall from our room, which might be inconvenient if you make frequent nighttime visits. The bathroom is basic with a tub and shower curtain but it is very clean and has all amenities.

My favorite thing about staying here was the daily “Happy Hour.” An assortment of wines and a nice offering of snacks are set up in the breakfast room. There are many areas to sit and relax both inside and out, including a lovely garden. If it’s chilly (and it’s San Francisco so it will be) there is even a cozy living room with a fireplace going. The included breakfast is also very nice with plenty of choices.

The downsides…
1. Noise: If you are a light sleeper, do not disregard the comments about the tram noise. This B&B is located on a tram line and when it goes by, it is loud! (Fortunately it does stop running overnight.)
2. Location: It is a bit removed from the main sightseeing areas. Unless you are planning on staying in the local areas (Mission/Castro), you will need to use the MUNI. Thank you to Dennis who got us set up on the MUNI app. (However, it NOT a user-friendly public transport system and we had to rely heavily on Google Maps and guesswork!)

All in all, this is a good choice if you are looking for nice, humble accommodations away from the touristy action.

Excellent attention to details! Staff was helpful and available without being intrusive. Loved the touches like water provided in room and linens cleaned with non-irritating, low/no fragrance detergent. Felt very safe with their COVID protocols such as individually wrapped cheese, crackers and breakfast foods. (So much better than a Monterey hotel we went to later in week where few wore masks and would crowd into elevators with you)

We had a wonderful stay at the Parker Guest House. The owners, Bob and Bill, were a true delight and made us feel welcomed at every turn. Our room was light and bright, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with french doors we could open to soak in the morning sun. The garden area and courtyard are lovely, especially at night with their twinkle lights and beautifully lit fountain. The location is fantastic -- one block from Mission Delores Park, exquisite views, cafes, restaurants, and a Bi-Rite market and ice cream store (the best ice cream in the city!) all within a block or two. We can't say enough wonderful things about the Parker and will book our next stay soon!

When we were planning our vacation to San Francisco, I began looking for the perfect place where we could stay for a week. Over the last few years we have stayed in various hotels as well as rented apartments and while most have been satisfactory, I never felt like I wanted to return there. That feeling changed when we walked into the Parker Guest House and spent seven days enjoying our room as well as the many features that make this hotel the best in San Francisco! This small boutique hotel offers their guests the comforts of a private house with rooms to roam. There is a comfortable living room featuring a fireplace that is often providing warmth as well as complementary bourbon that can also make you feel really good inside. The grounds are truly lovely with lots of sitting areas on the grounds of the hotel as well in their backyard. Every morning we had a delicious selection of cereals, homemade oatmeal, fresh cut fruits as well great muffins and other breakfast treats. There was also an endless amount of great coffee being constantly brewed by their dedicated staff. I’m not really adequately describing what made the Parker House our new favorite hotel but I’d urge you to read other reviews and consider staying here. We choose to have one of the smaller rooms with a king sized bed facing the backyard since we wanted a room that was quieter. However we spoke to many guests who loved their larger rooms that faced Church Street so I’m guessing we would have been happy in any of their rooms.

I stayed here with friends while visiting with my son — the rooms and amenities were clean, extremely comfortable and met all our needs. The ease and access to drinks and/or breakfast items made it feel homey and warm. They were exceptionally accommodating with finding extra space for an unplanned guest.

I highly recommend and will visit this hotel again happily!

Parker Guest House is a reasonable, convenient place to stay within walking distance of Dolores Park in San Francisco. There are nice coffee shops, breweries and wine tasting within walking distance and Dolores Park offers lovely views of downtown San Francisco, tennis, and no leash area for your dog to run around. We met friends at Dolores Park and spent a lovely afternoon enjoying the park. Parker Guest House has a nice, peaceful garden and also offers wine at 5:30PM and brandy in the late evening. Coffee is available 24x7 and there is a kitchen and self serve breakfast.

I echo the sentiments of the reviewer who said they will "never stay anywhere else in San Francisco." Parker Guest House eclipses all other accommodations we've experienced in the city for charm, cleanliness, location, comfort and hospitality. Without being overbearing, Parker's staff is friendly and thorough in their attention to detail. While the exterior of the expansive house is authentically Victorian, the interior style is bright and fresh. The housekeeping is impeccable and the furnishings are designed for comfort. It's often hard to find availability at Parker Guest House but when you stay there you understand why.

Not close. Palmer house is a bit south of a line from Golden State PARK and South Beach. And south of the attractions you mentioned. So if those are you main focus points, you may need to pay more and find a place to the north.
