My friends and I couldn't believe how nice the Apartment on Caselli was, and the price and location were perfect. There were many amenities provided, it was very spacious, and each room was decorated to feel lived-in and cozy. I will definitely stay here again the next time we're in the city, and will recommend it to anyone else who...

The innkeeper of this B&B greeted us with an orientation to San Francisco, including a wealth of information. This was most welcome, but pre-printed notes to walk away with would have been helpful. the breakfasts were outstanding with a selection of cold cereals, tasty bread such as zucchini bread, mixed fruit and strawberries, and a choice of a hot food...

I visited San Francisco for the first time April 17 thru the 21st. I had a great visit and the accommodations at the inn were excellent. The bed and room were comfortable and quiet. The breakfasts were very tasty. Enjoyed conversations with the other guests at the inn. The location is very centrally located with the subway just down the...

We stayed in the one bedroom Self-Catering apartment on Caselli, not the Inn itself. It was very roomy (living area fit an inflatable full-sized mattress), clean, comfortable and in a nice and quiet part of the neighborhood, just blocks away from all the action in The Castro and the muni (mass transit). Jan is very accommodating and friendly. The only...

We stayed in the Apartment in Caselli Ave! Jan was v helpful throughout & indeed lives above the Apartment! The Apartment had two bedrooms, one for us & the other for mother! A lovely apartment all round! Spacious & comfortable! It suited us fine! But, we had hoped to do some self catering (mum wasn't that mobile!) And we did...

We were only able to stay for one night, but Jan's breakfast was a great way to start my morning on the way to a job interview. The Inn is located just a half a block from the main drag of the Castro and is in walking distance to some other great neighborhoods in town. We're hoping we can return...

We had a wonderful few nights in this B&B located in the Castro area. Jan is very welcoming and makes a great breakfast. We stayed in the Upper Brown room which has a shared bathroom and some street noise but this did not bother us. I would definitely recommend staying here - it will be one of the highlights of...

Jan is a welcoming and wonderful host. My downstairs room had a private garden and the weather was warm and beautiful and for the first time, I could sit outside in the morning and evening. The breakfasts were beyond fabulous. I hated to leave. This is my third visit and for sure, won't be my last.

We stayed at the inn for five nights and absolutely loved our time with our host Jan and his wonderful staff. It was as if we were in San Francisco visiting a friend. Jan is very welcoming and has a great sense of humor. He serves his guests freshly made breakfast every morning (e.g. freshly baked bread -- from scratch--...

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
