Great location, okay breakfast but old rooms that don't even have power half the time. Also when I called to figure out how to get power at 9:30pm the inn keeper was rude and seemed annoyed with me that I'd used a heater which can't be used in conjunction with other things being turned on. There might even be a...

This really great little inn is situated just by Market street/ Castro Street. You have the cablecars and the underground very very nereby. The rooms are clean and different from each other and are so nice. Jan, the owner, is very sympathic host and makes a superb breakfast each morning. Just remember as it is situated just on Castro Street...

This would be our 5th stay here and it never disappoints. Stayed in the Red Room and it was very comfortable as well as quite. Jan was wonderful, he made us feel very welcomed and made killer breakfasts each morning. Will always stay here on our travels to San Francisco. Thanks so much Jan!!! Hope to return soon.

Good , clean, quiet, comfortable room with a decanter of brandy waiting on arrival. Unfrozen circumstances required a second night's stay in the City which was graciously accomplished. Located near many San Francisco attractions with good access to MUNI and other transportation.

The Inn on Castro was an awesome place to stay. This Inn is a great representation of the restored homes of San Francisco. Jan was a great host and with his breakfast cooking and conversation it was truly enjoyable! The room was clean and comfortable. The service from Sarah was great, all our needs were met and exceeded! The second time staying at this excellent bed & breakfast. I had never looked forward to staying at a place in SF more than at the Inn on Castro. Delicious breakfasts prepared and served by the highly sympathetic owner, comfortable rooms - some with beautiful views. Always pleasant company of other guests around the breakfast table. Jan, the owner knows...

I did not want to stay at any of the big chain hotels and was very glad to have found the Inn on Castro. It's clean, quiet, the breakfast delicious and the staff super nice. I especially like the good selection of cafes and restaurants right around the corner. Will stay there again.

My daughter and her family live around the corner from the Inn, so I often stay there. Jan is a wonderful, experienced host...and the hot breakfast is just the best! The rooms are all different and fun; most have a private bath. Wi-fi service is good. It really is the breakfast where you meet fun people from all over, and...

This review is long overdue. My boyfriend and I went to San Francisco in June of 2016 for Pride! It was our second time in the city, visiting from Honolulu. We searched for places to stay but really wanted something close to The Castro. It was the best decision we ever made to stay at the Inn on the Castro....

My fiancé (now husband) and I stayed here in November of 2015 and LOVED it! Jan and his staff were charming, attentive, interesting, and very helpful. The Inn is located in one of my favorite neighborhoods in all of San Francisco - The Castro - and only a couple of blocks from excellent public transportation will take you anywhere (almost)...

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
