We've stayed in Hotel Rex for 2 nights in June. The location of this hotel is great. You can actually walk from there everywhere with taking a cab or bus. First of all the staff of the hotel is excellent, I mean all of them-people working there are so nice and friendly , also very helpfull- I think they are...

We spent three evenings planning our trip and researching every hotel in San Francisco. We wanted to make sure we were going to enjoy our six night stay. We decided upon Hotel Rex and it was definitely the correct decision! I must admit the glowing reviews swayed us but the overall deciding factor was Max! You've got to meet Maximo...

The hotel is decorated in warm, rich colors and instantly makes you feel at home. The rooms are large by European standards and small by American Standards. I had a Queen room, which was perfect for one person - it might be too tight for two people, though. The room comes equipped with a mini-fridge, which is handy for snacks...

We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Rex for 3 wonderful nights. The staff was so helpful with any questions we had and made my family feel right at home. We traveled with our children (ages 5 and 7) and they were excited every day to see the hotel dog Maximo. After a long day of sightseeing it was...

I came to San Francisco with a group of friends to celebrate a couple of birthdays. We had limited funds and as a co-founder of a lifestyle website (affordablecool.com) wanted a great deal. We booked at Hotel Rex on the recommendation of our travel expert and loved it! Boutique hotels are the way to go because they have a lot...

This hotel is in a great location, close to Union Square. It's comfortable and clean, and our room was a good size. It's a character hotel, so don't expect it to be too streamlined. When we hit technical difficulties receiving an international phone call, the staff were great and went out of their way to fix the problem as soon...

We recently spent 4 wonderful nights at The Rex in a king executive room. The room was situated at the back of the hotel overlooking a garden, so was very quiet and we had a wonderful nights sleep each night in the very comfortable bed. Our room was spacious and very clean with a big king bed and a sofa....

First of all, thank you to all you trip advisor reviewers who have helped me over the years find such awesome lodging. Trip Advisor is the reason I found Hotel Rex and I couldn't be more appreciative. This was the perfect place for our family of 5. We had 2 King Suites right next to each other. Room 402 had...

Our room for two adults and two teenagers was a bit cramped and I made the mistake of going for a double and a sofa bed instead two doubles as it was supposed to give us more room. My back still hasn't recovered! The staff were friendly but I felt the whole decor was a bit gloomy not light and...

Just spent 3 lovely days in SF and at the Rex. Felt right at home when we walked into the lobby. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The 5-6pm wine in the bar/library was especially pleasant as we took a break from daytime activities before the evening. One night Miner Family Vineyards offered a tasting--try their Cabernet...it...
