We have been staying at the Hotel Rex for several years now whenever visiting San Francisco. It is in an ideal location and we are able to access public transportation and walk to many different restaurants and events. We really appreciate the Hotel Staff especially...More
Spent three nights here and had a wonderful stay. Brilliant location close to Union Square, China town etc. Really could not fault the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff too. Rooms were stylish (lovely 1920s feel) and spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds. Loved the complimentary...More

Our room was comfortable, housekeeping was excellent, and we especially enjoyed Max, an adorable four-legged friend keeping post in the lobby. Originally home to rallies supporting the Union Army in the Civil War, this grand square has become the city's premier shopping and entertainment district containing the largest number of upscale department stores, chic boutiques, art galleries and theatres in the city. It's a large open area where tourists and locals gather, watch cable cars and crowds go by, enjoy a snack, or plan their day of shopping and
sightseeing, If feeling the pulsating energy of the city is on your agenda, Union Square is the place to soak it in.

Hello and thank you for choosing us to stay with. It depends. If you are going to use your car valet is worth it at 50 $ a night. But if you were not going to use the car a lot with park and stay (and there are 3 less then a block away.) at 30 $ a night is best. Public transportation is easy and quick here In San Francisco. You of course and park in the white zone out front of the hotel and check in. We look forward to having you and let me know if you have any other questions.
