The rooms are clean and a bit spartan, but that is perfectly fine. The bathroom was great. The people at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. The location is in a very safe and active neighborhood so there is plenty of places to get a bite to eat. One of the best features was the onsite and abundant parking... More

We had an unexpected extended stay in San Francisco and the staff were so helpful and friendly. It is truly an old fashioned Motor Lodge, which has been recently renovated. There is parking, which is hard to find in city lodging. I enjoyed the subtle, 50's style hipster music gently playing in the parking lot. The F line street car... More

I was very impressed with Beck's. I was in San Francisco for a four day adventure. I needed to be near easy access to San Francisco's excellent public transportation. Beck's is between the Castro St and Church St Munich stations (subway) and the vintage street cars run on Market St right in front of the hotel. It's within very easy... More

What do you do when you've accidentally picked the the hottest conference days of the year in san franciso? Unlike those snazzy hairdressers and CRM nerds there was no way we could afford the jacked up £700 a day cost of most hotel rooms, but we didnt want to stay outside of san francisco and spend most of our time... Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem!! The price was great for a San Francisco hotel and I was a little worried that it was too good to be true. When we arrived I was blown away by how clean and updated the rooms were. We had a great experience checking in, had good internet service in our room, and found... More

There is nothing cheap or even reasonable in San Francisco... but this place offers good quality accomm, comfy beds and strong wifi. Easy check in and sun deck for smoking or lounging. Few mins stroll to the Castro main district and tram stop just outside and very slightly down a bit to the left. Would def stay here again.

My stay was very pleasant--except for some occasional noise from the hallway and the parking lot. The office staff was very pleasant and helpful. The location is a plus and the property is well maintained.

I often stay at Becks because the rooms are nicely appointed (recently renovated), and always sparkling clean. Becks is very convenient to my doctors offices and to other medical services, public transportation is at the doorstep, it is in the Castro (a warm, inviting, and lovely neighborhood to explore and experience), there are a plethora of great restaurants and welcoming... I had stayed a Beck's many years ago when it was, well, not much to talk about. It has been totally renovated, totally re-staffed and is now totally awesome. True, from the outside, it definitely looks like an old-school motor lodge. Not much can be done about that unless Beck's is going to turn its parking into a pool and... More

Enjoyed the accommodation during our stay in SF very much. Very friendly and helpful staff members. It would be great if the motel could offer a small complimentary breakfast, like other motels. Highly recommended accommodation!

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
