The staff provided me with excellent service and the room was rustic but clean and comfortable. I had a travel delay and had to get a room quickly in King Salmon and Antler's Inn was able to accommodate me. When I arrived, they met me at the airport, and helped me with my luggage. Both the store and restaurant in King Salmon were closed so they offered to make me a pizza! At the end of my stay, when I was waiting to leave at the airport, the owner came to the airport to bring my camera battery charger that I had left plugged in. She went above and beyond!
This hotel, a short and easy walk from the King Salmon airport, is a friendly, clean and warm place I used as a base for visiting Katmai National Park and Dillingham. The rooms have full amenities: mine had a refrigerator and microwave. The hotel is quite close to the town's supermarket, and the only open restaurant in town was across the street.
We, a party of 3, stayed 4 nights in Apartment 11 - full kitchen, dining area, one full bedroom and bed in front area, and one bath. We wanted enough time to visit Aniakchak National Monument/Preserve, Alganak Wild River, and Katmai National Park/Preserve. We built in time in case weather played a part in getting out to the outlying areas. Mr. Jim, Mrs. Flora, and Rachel did everything they could to help make our stay top notch - and it was. We could "throw a rock" from our location to a grocery store, two restaurants, and the air port. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location.
The "room" was actually a one bedroom modular home located next to a couple of other homes and a larger building that had some of the smaller rooms. It was a bit oddly laid out, but for a far outpost town that you can only get to by plane or boat, it had everything we needed. Delicious diner next door and a grocery store on the other side of that. The "town" is basically a dozen buildings that seem to support the small tourist/fishing industry.
My brother and I stayed in #3 for three nights while visiting Katmai NP, and prior to flying out to Becharof Rapids Camp for salmon fishing. We'd originally scheduled the trip for 2020, so my booking experience spanned 18 months! Flora, Rachel and the staff were helpful, professional and friendly throughout. They know everything about King Salmon and the businesses that support tourism and sport fishing, and are very responsive to guests' requests. They have worked hard to improve the property and guest rooms; our suite had a living area with kitchenette and bunk bed, and separate bedroom. I look for cleanliness, a comfortable bed and a good shower, and Antlers delivered! The airport, grocery and few restaurants are within walking distance. Despite a remote location, and current labor and supply shortages, they do a great job delivering quality customer service. …
