We spent 5 nights at the Hearthside B&B with nine of our biking friends. We had a great time. The owners, Brian and Catherine, made our experience both memorable and wonderful because of their engaging and friendly personalities. The charm of the Victorian style rooms and exceptional breakfasts clearly differentiated his B&B from the others.

We stayed at Hearthside B&B for two nights. The owners, Catherine and Brian are lovely and keen on giving advice on what to do in Acadia. The house is a nice big house, and they have a guest living room, in case you don't want to stay in the room all evening. The room itself had a bed, a wardrobe...

This B&B does not disappoint! Beautiful rooms, great location and delicious breakfasts! We stayed in the Romeo & Juliet room - it is huge, comfortable and very lovely. This was one of our very best B&B experiences ever.

We stayed at 12 different establishments during our road trip through coastal Maine and Canada, all wonderful! But Hearthside was the best B and B of all! Catherine and Brian are the kindest, most considerate and informative hosts. The house is beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. Because the rooms weren't available for 2 nights, we stayed in Emily Dickenson (loved...

Very good breakfast, coffee and tea available throughout the day as well as homemade cookies in the afternoon. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We recommend the Emily...

My wife and I stayed at the Hearthside this last past July (2016). This was our first experience with both a B&B and with Mt. Desert Island. We couldn't have picked a better place! Brian and Catherine were great hosts, breakfast was great, and the place was first class. I would highly recommend the Hearthside to anyone visiting this area...

We had a wonderful stay at the hearthside b&b. Brian and Catherine are excellent hosts. Brian's island knowledge (Mt Desert Island) is comprehensive and a real bonus. He will recommend restaurants, places to visit, and his favourite hikes on the island. The breakfasts were superb - you will have limited choice but that is part of the charm. The room...

We stayed in 3 B&Bs on our Maine vacation and by far this one was the best! Brian and Catherine are absolute angels wearing many hats during a stay at the Hearthside. They are your 24 hour concierge, gourmet chefs, Maine historians, trip planners, and much more. Both do an excellent job at reading the needs of their various travelers...

We stayed at the Hearthside for 4 nights. It is a beautiful older home that is well preserved. Brian & Catherine make all feel welcome and part of the family. The food is great and plentiful. The location is perfect for a short walk into town or a short drive to Acadia National Park. We had a wonderful stay, and...
