My wife and I just returned from a two night stay at Anne's White Columns Inn, and we really enjoyed this place. The location was perfect, just a 5 minute walk to the heart of Bar Harbor with all the restaurants and shops and where all the tours departed (trolley, whale watch, kayak, etc.). Even though Bar Harbor was packed...

Just a five minute walk to the heart of downtown. Bob the Innkeeper is a wealth of information for all the area has to offer from restaurants to Acadia trails. The breakfast is delicious and amazingly hot since it is not prepared on site but you would never know. The afternoon wine and cheese socials have to be the best...

Wonderful B&B. Home is immaculate, beds are comfortable and breakfast a gourmet treat. Guest interaction encouraged at breakfast and a daily 5pm wine & cheese taste. We visited two years ago, when we decided to visit the Maine coast for our honeymoon, we knew this is the place!!! Two block walk to town center and free buses to whole island....

It was the perfect decision to choose this lovely B&B as my hub for my day trips to Akadia N.P. The host is a lovely person and an expert of Desert Island with a lot of useful ideas, the breakfast delicious. Will always stay there when I come back to Bar Harbor. Only minutes to get to the city centre...

My wife and I stayed two nights at this elegant Guest House and believe it would be hard to find better accommodation for such a reasonable price. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and it would be impossible to fault it. The Guest House is ideally situated within a short walk of the town and all it's amenities...

My husband and I stayed in the smallest room at White Columns and found it exceptionally clean and comfortable. We made a conscious decision to take the smallest room in the Inn which is clearly described on the website. We didn't plan to spend much time in the room and one of the joys of a B & B are...

Anne and Bob were delightful hosts. The cocktail hour in the late afternoon (wine and cheese) was fun and a chance to meet some of the "neighbors" in the other rooms. Bob is a wonderful pianist and plays in some other hotels in the evening. Bar Harbor is small, but the entire Mt. Desert Island is large, and lots to...

We booked the smallest room in this Inn, but since there were plenty of vacancies, Bob, the owner, upgraded us to a larger room for free! Breakfast was tasty and the wine and cheese in the afternoon, while nothing spectacular, was a nice afternoon treat. The Inn is just a few blocks from town and you can walk to everything....

Anne's White Columns is truly a jewel of Bar Harbor. My wife and I stayed at the Columns the last of August and the first of September for 3 nights. Bob and Anne went completely out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The Columns has different sized rooms to choose from, so there is something for everyone. We...

My wife and I just returned from our first trip up to Bar Harbor and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! Between the walking distance to downtown and Bar Harbor's free shuttle service to Acadia and beyond, there's no reason to move your car from "The Columns" after your arrival. The owner, Bob was as nice...
