Bonvoy Gold Member …..Booked months in advance for a wonderful trip and wedding, Arrived early and checked in. Got the worst possible room that does not meet specifications we booked. Talked to Front Desk twice, finally passed to Norman the senior manager who would not move us. When asked about how to take a bath in a room that does not have one, “use the ladies locker room “ was the answer. So much for getting what you book, that didn’t happen, and thanks for the customer loyalty, Bonvoy
First off, what a beautiful resort. The grounds are well maintained and the pools were great. Besides the small rooms, there wasn't too much to complain about. The only obstacle we had was getting our car jumped in the parking lot of the resort. We were told by the front desk that there is a policy where no employees could let us borrow or assist guests with jumper cables. I know, weird right? I'm assuming someone complained in the past and ruined it for the rest of us. However, where is your compassion for your fellow human being? Especially, a mother with two small children. I found the heartless decision from Marriott heartbreaking. I hope they find some of that aloha spirit to help the next person in need.
We took my in-laws here for their 50th wedding anniversary, and we had a great time. The resort was great. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean. We enjoyed having a kitchen in our room. We loved being able to eat on the balcony. We are brining our kids back and hopefully have just as great of a time. The spots in the parking garage are pretty narrow. Thankfully our rental car had a camera and sensors on it.
We aren’t big “hangout at a resort” kind of people. That said, it’s lovely and it would be nice to do so. Great location or starting point for exploring the island. We left every day for an adventure, but what a great place to return to to relax in the afternoon / evenings. Great room - clean, spacious, everything you need + a spectacular view! Nice to be able to make a good breakfast, or pack lunch before heading out to explore.
If you want rooms that haven't been updated in 20 years, spotty wifi that can't handle the internet traffic and a resort with overpriced tasteless food then marriott ko o Lina is for you! Been an owner here since it opened and have watched the property slowly retract to 3 star mediocrity.
