The big pool (which is unheated and about the same temp as the lagoon) is mainly the kids pool. They can play and be loud and there’s a little “sandy” (more like soft pea gravel) area for little ones too. The quiet pool is heated but your kids need to be quiet and it’s quite perturbing when people bring their kids and allow them to Scream and splash (and I’m a mother of 3 littles) There are no pool toys allowed in the quiet pool either. They can have some toys in the big pool. No life guards on duty anywhere but with water wings my 3 yo can go all around without me worrying.

Aloha Jason. No construction yet. We'll be monitoring things and posting updates as they become available. While there are big plans for the future in Ko Olina () we are not yet aware of specific timelines. The only thing I've seen happening on the "Atlantis" parcel in the past month, between Beach Villas and Disney Aulani, is some surveying. That's it. Once construction does start then I will be sharing photos and video updates to keep travelers informed of the progress there.
Fortunately, the Beach Villas all have amazing $30k+ door and window systems that are very high-end, thick-double paned and will reduce any outdoor sounds when closed. Of course having lanai doors open is a nice feature in these Villas, but I like to mention the quality of the doors and windows anytime we are talking about potential outdoor noise, because that does help a lot and make a big difference.
